Nero - Burning Rom has a known compatibility issue with this version of Windows. For an update that is compatible with this version of Windows, contact Ahead Software.

FiLeZz, do you have details regarding the issue? Like what version of Nero experiences issues, and what's the particular issue?

The warning has a checkbox to turn it off.. I haven't tried burning anything but I think it's just a warning...

I had one issue (Can't communicate with device) but a reboot seemed to solve the problem. I hadn't seen this error before sp2.

I can't update Trend Scanmail for Outlook with SP2. That's the only bug I've seen since Saturday.

I read somewhere only versions 6.0 and before of Nero will have problems. If your version of Nero is newer than that, it shouldn't run into any problems.

Two things that affect me, seems to be daemon tools and the tcp/ip limitation, both of which can be hacked right now I think. Not sure...

Still using 5.5 (the latest one, 5.5.10.56) here. Everything works fine.

I am having problems with windows messenger. I have the add-in that alerts you when your hotmail account receives email. Now it seems its associated itself with outlook rather than hotmail. When I click on ' My Email Inbox' it opens outlook rather than my hotmail account. I have only really started to try and figure out whats going on, but after looking over the preferences for windows messenger, I am not really seeing anything obvious that lets me change the association.

The new security center didn't recognize my Symantec, corporate version.

Warned me that it was unable to verify antivirus protection, so I disabled it.

EDIT: from Symantec, just FYI:

Q:
Will Symantec software be compatible with Windows® XP SP2?

A:
Yes, although one feature of Service Pack 2, the Windows Security Center, may indicate otherwise. By design, Symantec includes tamper-protection features to make it difficult to scan the status of its products. As a result, the Windows Security Center can detect the presence, but not the status, of some Symantec security software. Symantec is developing an update to ensure that the Windows Security Center shows the status of Symantec products as green (on). This update will be in the form of a product update for some products and as a Maintenance Release for others. The schedule for updates and Maintenance Releases appears on the the Product Update tab.

TBH, it doesn't matter whether Security Centre recognises your AV software. Security Centre is only there for the noobs to tell them the stuff we already know abou Av and firewalls.

Your AV software is still working fine in SP2. Personally I'd just disable Security Centre from the start.

Sounds to me like Microsoft is sick and tired of allowing bad code to be executed on their operating system. Good for them!

The symantec update was released today. Just run Live Update. Windows tells me both the firewall and antivirus are running Norton and are up to date. There was also an option after install of the Live Update whether or not to allow only windows or other software see the status. Default is to only let windows see status.

I installed SP2 on my wifes rig and something went really wrong. I mean REALLY wrong. I don't blame SP2, but rather a bugged download or something else in her system. When I attempted to install SP2 on her machine, it asked for a file on the SP2 CD. I thought "Huh?", so I hit the cancel button and the system hung. I rebooted and both her partitions were gone!!!!!! I mean there was nothing on the HDD. It installed fine on my system and my sons, so like I said, I do not blame the SP2 itself. I apologized to her several times as of course she lost all of her beloved pictures. Luckily I had most of them on a backup HDD on my system. I went to reinstall WinXP with SP2 slipstreamed and all was fine, but she really enjoyed MSN Explorer for her hotmail and it is totally gone with WINXPSP2 when slipstreamed on a disk. So now I have to reinstall so she can get back MSN Explorer.

Powerquest Drive Image 7.0.....worked perfect before SP2. I made a backup image of the C drive right before the SP2 install.

After the install I tried to make a new image. The program hung up, and when I tried to reboot the system entered a loop of rebooting. I finally entered in the safe mode. Without actually doing anything on the next reboot, everything seems ok. Bad deal.....
