Ouch! Just in case this is a real request. YMMV
I don't even know if these programs still work with XP, but here are my old instructions to the relatives.

Download from www.bleepingcomputer.com if availiable
TDSSKILLER
Adwcleaner
Rkill
Malwarebytes
ccleaner
Startup Control Panel by Mike Lin .. May show rouge startups and save much time. IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCED, uncheck questionable startups.

1. Use one and only one anti virus and keep it updated. The free ones are Bitdefender, Avira, AVG, and Avast.
2.periodically or when there are problems:
a. run tdsskiller – this checks for rootkits and corrects -3 minutes
b. run ADWcleaner- very fast and effective malware cleaner. scan/ select clean -5 or 10 minutes and a reboot.

3. If problems persist:
a. run rkill – it takes 2 or 3 minutes to start and 3 more to finish DO
NOT REBOOT
b. when rkill finishes, run Malwarebytes a full scan and fix all - 1hour
or so.

If you have made big changes, run ccleaner :
a. analyze, wait, select all and run cleaner.

Good luck
Jim

Sir! My windows xp is working painfully slow how to fix

The simplest solution:

Step 1: Get rid of current computer
Step 2: Buy a newer computer with a modern OS
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit!

If that isn't possible, then easiest thing to do is reformat and re-install the OS. Make sure you have the maximum RAM supported by your OS, which will likely be just under 4GB. An SSD is also very useful, but if you are going to spend money on the computer, you are far better off getting a newer machine.

A new-to-you Refurbished Core2 (Duo, Quad) rig with 2-4GB of RAM, and a 160GB HDD and a DVD-ROM, with Windows 7, is less than $100 US. (Ok, maybe the Quad-core models are $150-200, but still.)

Caution: Format only if you have all the addons and updates you need on hand. Any upgrades to the OS disk you reinstall may either not be available or actually be a "poison pill". I know the newest MSE, even though almost useless, will not activate on XP and declare your OS obsolete (which is true enough) with large red symbols.

This is the 5 files on my XP laptop now. Cost $0 and is super fast again.

Leave win XP, Just install win 7. It will be great. Otherwise download KasperSky Antivirus and scan your system with it. Your problem will be surely solved. Scanning is necessary before any upgrade.

Replace the spinning hard drive with an SSD.

This. Makes a huge difference. Depending on how old the install is, might be worth doing a clean install too. Windows installations tend to get slow and clogged up with junk over time. Depending on the specs of the PC I'd even consider going to windows 7 while you're at it. Ex: if it's at least a quad core with at least 4GB of ram, I'd just go with 7. With SSD too.

Explorer broke on my work machine. Power went down during a defrag, and it was never right again. Everything worked, but took *forever* to happen. I fixed it by installing Xubuntu.
