I thought that was only for PUP (Personal Use Program) purchases of, say Office XP for $116. Pretty weak deal considering you can spend an hour on quizzes and get it for $15 bucks shipping and handling.

I believe that the items redeemed with points you earn from quizzes can be given to friends and family, but cannot be sold to them or returned to retail stores for in-store credit. This was stated in the FAQ when i read it a couple months ago, but since they redid parts of the website, I can't seem to find where it said that. Correct me if I'm wrong...

How would that be verification of your employeement? You could be Joe from Joe's Garage for all they know. They need to contact your employeer and do the verification.

Guess what?

I am Joe from Joe's Garage and got my Software, so YMMV on verification.

You'll pay for it one way or anouther.

I paid $24 for them WinXP CD's, they are not for FREE.

Has anybody been able to get on the Training Site in the last few days? All I get is an error message that says they are aware of the problem and are working on it.

I hope they do come after you.... their really starting to crack down on this since everyone is taking advantage of it. People like you think they just have a right to things they don't and by doing so end up RUINING the bonuses others get from using the program the way its meant to be used.

FYI, The MS Website is back up with some slight changes in look. XP Pro and Office XP still 2500 points. Just got 2 XPs with a little over $20 for S&H. Still a good deal if you work in retail.

I would guess not for a while since their prize shop has been getting raped with people intent upon getting Win XP Pro and Office XP Pro.

I'm betting they're trying to get rid of as many copies of OfficeXP as they can right now, since Office 2K3 is coming out in about a month. There should be a whole slew of O2K3 tests posted in the next few weeks (especially since a lot of stores are starting presell deals soon. If anyone hears of any MS training seminars for Office 2K3, post it here. I want to get in on one of these, since most attendees will probably get a voucher for a NFR copy of O2K3 Pro.

Been a lurker here for a while, but though I would post on this topic

I got some software from here, and I do sell MS products in a qualifying store, so the software that I received is legit. I also have only one account and will not cheat the system by signing up for multiple ones.

I ordered three pieces of software from retail training, which I received about three weeks ago. None of the software came with any sticker of message of any sort that said it was NFR. I even did a web search using the bar code on Office XP Pro and it came up as a full retail version.

Now I went to the traing site and looked at the terms of use. I read them word by work and it does not say anything about the software being NFR, PUP, Personal use, or anything that I find to resemble the same effect. Now if Microsoft did not want people selling these copies, wouldn't they have come right out and stated that fact? How hard is it to say "These copies are for personal use and can't be resold." Not that hard at all.

Now, should these be NFR? Probably. But if someone sees an opportunity to sell them, and there is nothing that specifically forbids them from selling them, then they are well within their rights to do so.

I got two copies of Office XP Professional, and I am very tempted to sell one of them, since I have yet to find anything on their website which states that I may not. Now if my software had arrived with a NFR sticker on it, or something of the sort, then that would be different.

I challenge any of the lawyer types to tell me I am wrong. If you can prove it, then I will admit I am wrong and shut my mouth.

This is the link to Microsoft's Retail Training Terms of Use

It's been a long time since this thread was started, so is this deal still going on?

3 new courses, turn active X off and hit submit (w/o doing the test).
However, the points don't show up in your history, but the total is incremented w. 200 points each.

And....
They are getting even tougher now.
They called my friend (himself, he is manager) to check him out, but then they realized that he is at Radio Shack and that store does not qualify anymore.
RS is not on the "list" anymore. Poor guy.

I emailed Microsoft awhile back to see if they would put Office 2003 on the site, and they said it would be about a month or so but that they ARE going to be offing Office 2003.

Shipping just got a hell of a lot more expensive though. $18 bucks per copy now (although a lot cheaper than $500, you have to admit).

Wow are all those little tests boring...easy, but boring, I wasn't even reading them by the end, just clicking as fast as I could, since you can always resubmit things. I just ordered XP Pro and Office XP, we'll see if they actually do a employment verification, I somewhat doubt it, but who knows. I wish they had more more normal software up to get, not just a bunch of games...I guess games are cool, but they don't make you money..

So for those that have gotten this heavily discounted stuff, did it really take 6-8 weeks like they claim?

Out...
