Just to test things out, I entered a bunch of bogus info, seemed to work just fine. XP pro comes up at the top of the prize list shows up as 2500pts with 727 left. Could this actually work for anyone?? Hmmmm...

I have been out of my retail job almost 6 months and my account is still active. I don't really think they check employment - just try to scare the non-retail people off. Ive placed 3 orders since leaving and all ahve come in.

Wadam, I think they may just take their time to do whatever they do to monitor their programs. I had one too from a year ago and tried to use my accumulated points but got a message that I wasn't eligible to use them. Another example is the guy who sold me my system a few years ago. In the meantime I remember reading about Microsoft taking out a group of people using software from them.

I went back to this guy's store to get some upgrades done and there was a sign on the door that they were closed because of MSFT's policing their product distribution. It was rather impressive.

Intel did that with our p4 combos with the retailedge

This retail site is really useful for free stuff. Take all the Holiday Training tests around Christmas and you are almost sure to recieve a bundle of free game CDs. It has worked two years in a row for me. The first year I got Frontpage, Encarta Ref Lib 2002, Zoo Tycoon, Flight Sim Pro, AoE Gold Edition w/ AoK. Last year's training got me another copy of Zoo Tycoon and FS Pro, plus Dungeon Siege, Age of Mythology, and Combat Flight Sim 3. Make sure to keep the link to the retail site and check back later in the year for the holdiay training. They don;t even charge you shipping for these.

Hmm, don't think my store applies to this one (Toys R Us). When I login, since I'm hooked up with a passport and such, it says "Welcome "guinness" Member of Toys R Us. I've done the Xbox quizzes and such, but since we don't sell Windows/Office etc., I guess I don't qualify. Though it does have a write-in box for your employer. Darn this stuff would be so sweet.

Target Stores sell Microsoft's software, including, but not limited to Win XP Home/Pro Upgrade, but not the full versions.

I think that should be kept OUT of hot deals. For one, its against the rules of most of the MS software you get in the training. I belive its not for resale versions . Although sometimes they send out full retail which would be ok to sell. (I've received both from MS deals in the past, the not for resale one was clearly marked not for resale on the CD, and you got the CD only. The full retail was just that).

Besides why would someone sell it to you for cheap? They could get full price ($200+ instead of the probably $20 you want to pay) on ebay or a good deal in hot deals

The one I received was just CD with NFR on it. No instructions, manuals or anything. similar to the ones you receive at a MS training session.
