Don't like the big Automatic Updates screen just on principal, wonder if they changed the licence agreement regarding the updates or I still won't use them.

I've been using SP2 RC1 for a while now, got it before the msblast worm hit everyone's computer. It still got me even though it has all these new security features. Maybe this RC1 is different than that RC1?

I'll ask but what's the version and build for IE in SP2 RC1?

Does anyone know how to uninstall it if I have system restore off? Even after opening port 21 and giving program access to my FTP server, turning off the firewall, etc, people can't connect to my FTP server.
You can alter this behavior by viewing the properties for the firewall exception and selecting "Scope..." from there you can specify only your subnet, all subnets or only your local host.Originally posted by: NogginBoink

By default, SP2 will only allow inbound connections from your own subnet. I don't know how to turn it off off the top of my head; read the 155 page "changes to functionality" guide that's linked from www.microsoft.com/xp2preview.

Uh SP2 RC1 has certainly not been around since before blaster. Go to start, run and type winver and see what you are really running.

I am almost to the point of praying that XP SP-2 will break everything Novell so that CWU's campus will stop using that piece of crap network OS. It sounds like SP-2 is going to be a step in the right direction. Any idea when it will be officially released?
Remind me again how Microsoft is as secure as Novell.....geee thats right it isnt! Novell is the best for Directory services, Microsoft cant touch them and they know it, AD is based on the novell "tree" setup.
Dont knock the most secure and stable NOS around....

Don't have it anymore. I installed SP1 after blaster came out because it didn't let me install the fix for blaster on SP2, because it says my windows is newer than the one i'm trying to install. This is why I'm positive I had it before msblast. I still remember day it was RC1
