While I worked in food service I also took OSHA safety training at college. There were so many violations at all the places I was employed for food service, it was crazy. Restaurants were just terrible compliance-wise.
The only place that ever gave a damn was a hospital I worked at for 4 years.

How is this point still under dispute? It’s weird to add surcharges like that to a check instead of folding them into your overall prices. That being said, the customer’s reaction to such a small charge that he didn’t even have to pay was insane. Normal people do not behave this way.
