WinME is possesed, please help

I've had WinME since the say it came out and up till a few weeks ago thought it was great...my first problems started when I wasn't able to shut the computer off what so ever, if I tried it just restarted or done nothing, so to turn it off I have to turn the power off on the APC. Never have gotten it figured out....Now my problem is when I'm on the internet, or trying running Norton Anti-Virus, or when I'm playing Madden 2001, the computer restarts itself for no apparent reason...also it locks up alot, but not in Madden.

Any suggestions? I thought maybe my computer was running hot, but I checked the mobo and CPU temp and they was 78 and 59 degrees. Thats not bad is it?

Anyone suggest installing Win2000 over ME? I mainly use my computer for Web site design, Using Office, internet and ICQ, and playing games like Nascar4, NBA Live, and Madden 2001.

If you are changing to 2k I would format and start clean.
The problems you have sound like a power supply type problem though.

doesn't sound windows related. Temps are good. I tend to agree on the PS

I have a 3Dcool.com Tornado2000 Case with a 300W PS...I check all the wires and plug ins, nothing seemed amiss. Is there anyway I can tell if its going bad?

i'm not sure about testing a power supply... but, i would definatly suggest formatting and install 2k. 2k is solid. good luck

OK, I gues I will get a power supply and put that in and see if that works...if thats possible....also if I have another computer with a 300W PS, is it possible to swap that out and into the new computer to see if it will work?

WinME is extremely buggy with Norton 2000. All my friends and I have had this problem. Since you're a web designer, I'd suggest you go with Win2k.
