What are the best ways to set it up? I want to get lots of results. Also, I thought it had spyware, but apparently it doesn't...

Do a search in this forum for "trippy MX" or "Win MX" (the latter if you only have title search available). A while ago someone posted a way to get a whole bunch of other servers for Win MX and that was it.

yeah, and I just read on their page that they dont have spyware. I could have sworn that someone said a while ago that winMX did have spyware... oh well....

if you have a router, you are going to need to open ports for it and then tell WinMX which ports you've opened for it.

great little program....much better than Napster at its peak, IMO....just don't leave it open all of the time...you'll get something in the order of 2-10 hits per SECOND, thereby taking up towards 100% of your bandwidth both ways....

Does WinMX still use opennap servers? Are any of those still running? I remember using WinMX with the Music City OpenNap servers and it was the most kick ass experience. Then Music City switched to Morpheus and it's been nowhere near as cool since.
