What are the differences between the 3 PVR-250 models they have? (Besides the date they were added to their catalog) If you go by these dates, the PVR-250 980 is 'older' than the 975.

I'm planning to build my first comp in a month or so-now I'm confused.

Being new to the HTPC scene, my understanding is the 250 MCE is a newer version for the Microsoft Media Edition. Here's a link to hauppauge, the manufacturer.

pcalchemy sells either of them single or in bundled form (I ordered one from them on Monday, SageTV and regular 250)

WinTV-PVR-250MCE - for windows media edition doesn't come with a remote

WinTV-PVR-250 - comes with a remote

I also know the WinTV-PVR-250 comes with Ulead's DVD authoring software for basic authoring.

Don't mean to thread crap but personally I am waiting for the ATI Theater 550 Pro based cards. These Philips/Connexant clones do have wide software support but they are getting long in the tooth. You may also consider the similar AVerMedia M150 for $60.

I can now add it to my cart as well, however at the time that I posted this it said that it was sold out.

Anyway, while looking around at Dell this morning, I saw this one:

Since at the time I still thought that the 250 (as posted here) was sold out, I was just wondering how these two might compare? Any ideas? Is the one from Dell a 150?

That card at Dell is just the WinTV, no encoding or PVR.

As for the PVR 150, I should have noted above that the remote from the MCE version won't work under Windoz XP. The remote with the retail, non-MCE version of the PVR 150 works fine with XP.

Finally, Micro Center is carrying the PVR 150 (had 5 at my local). As usual, full list price at $99.99.
