I just got back my RMA'ed motherboard but I having a problem booting up. I am running Windows XP on an Athlon XP 1800+ , Shuttle AK35GT2, with only the hard drive , AGP video card, and memory.
I keep getting the Windows failed to start successfully message. After selecting the safe mode, the computer checks for consistency in the hard drive, run CHKDSK then it restarts.
After it restart, I get the windows failed to start message again. After selecting the safe mode, a blue screen flash very quickly then it reboots. It keeps rebooting after each time. When I select the step by step boot up, it will halt loading mup.sys
I have tried three memory sticks (all had worked in the same motherboard before) in different slots but still the same problem.
I boot up from the windows cd but I got a blue screen with the following error message
stop: 0x0000008E ( 0XC0000005, 0X05888244, 0XF9E8531C, 0X00000000)
It says to disable caching and shadow, which I did but still the same problem.
Any help will be appreciated.
