Hey guys,
I recently built a new computer and reformatted my HDD, and then installed Win XP Professional. Got everything loaded up, got online, downloaded the assortment of Windows updates including SP1. But whenever I download and install SP2, my internet stops working after roughly 2 minutes. I've tried everything I can think of. When I uninstall SP2, I get my internet capability back.
I've built up 2 more computers since then, with different components, and the exact same thing happens on them too. So I've got three newly built machines, none of which will take SP2.
Has anyone seen this behavior before? ANything I should try? I suspect it's a firewall thing but if so, I know NOTHING at all about firewalls.
Is it okay to not have SP2?
