WinXP / Win98se Dualboot. How?

I have a clean winXP install running right now. Since I have some major problems with stability, please tell me if is it possible to make a dual boot with win98se and what do I need to do.
I have 1 hdd with 2 partitions right now, both fat32.

you could try installing win98 on the other partition using the setup /ntldr command.
may or may not work so backup before you try.
ideally win98 should be installed before XP!

uhhh...just format the second partiion and install windows 98 on it.

go to command prompt and type: format D:
then restart and plop in a win 9x boot floppy
choose "Start computer with cd rom support"
plop in your win 98 cd into the cd rom drive
type setup.exe at the dos prompt
install 98

Simple as that

P.S. if D: has stuff on it that you dont want to format just make a new partition for windows 98 of about 1 gig and then repeat the above steps replacing D: with E:

Actually I believe 98SE would have to be installed BEFORE WinXP or the dual boot functions won't work correctly... What I did was partition my 60GB Maxtor into 3 20GB partitions... Partition 1 (C is windows 98SE FAT32, Partition 2 (D is WinXP NTFS, and partition 3 (E is a fat32 shared drive that both OSes can read since 98SE won't read NTSF... So if you wanted to do something like this use XP to export all you're settings to a CDR or Zip drive and reformat, partition into three partitions and install 98SE, you could specify for it to install to D: I believe and install XP to C but XP will always be the boot drive since it will handle the dual boot fuctions, hope this helped some...

I must say I'm a little bit confused...some of you say to install win98 to the D: partition, some to use the setup /ntldr command when installing.

If I use a bootdisk and install win98 to D: will this screw up my winXP install?
Does the setup /ntldr command work with XP?

According to the XP docs etc XP needs to be installed AFTER the other operating system to insure files aren't overwritten and the dual boot options are correct on the primary boot hard disk... I installed a fresh copy of XP when I got it (after backing up files and reformating 98SE partition and when I realized I was going to have probs with games in XP I decided I needed a dual boot and XP told me I had to install 98SE first... The nice thing though is that you can use the restore settings to save all you're driver and windows settings onto a CDRW or zip disk and when you reinstall XP it will put it back the way you had it with all you're settings intact... If you find out otherwise I'd be interested to find out how the hell they installed XP first then 98SE second...
