WinXP64 on AMD64

I have an eMachines T6000 and am attempting to install win64 on it but the install hangs at what I think is the video test. Any suggestions? Thanks...

Are there drivers for your video card? Did you report this to the official testing place? I'd think that something like this is what official beta testers are supposed to be looking for

The card that came with my T6000 is an ATI sapphire radon 9600 atlantis. And I have discovered that ATI does not have drivers out for Win XP 64. So I wait... I may be should not use the digital connection and use the regular 15 pin... wondering... thank you for helping... Van

You still should be able to install XP-64. It includes native drivers for pretty much every video card. You won't be able to play anything in opengl though until ATI releases some drivers.

If it's an e-machine... *shudders* it could just be a BIOS issue. I'd try the install with a few things enabled as possible. Maybe that would help.

Microsoft has not released an operating system for 64-bit AMD processors, to the best of my knowledge.

Are you installing the 32 bit OS?

They have a public beta for Windows XP 64, for AMD64 processors.

So yes, he probably is installing a 64 bit OS.

ATI does not have 64-bit drivers available to the puplic, but they do have full 64-bit drivers included in the OS...
