I used to work in wire transfer but you gotta give us a little more info. I know that some Internet banks give you free wire transfers as a perk but usually the beneficiary (receiver of funds) has to pay an incoming wire transfer fee.

What you might want to consider is something like PayPal.com which charges your credit card the $ you want to send, they will send an e-mail to the recipient who can then logon to the web site and elect to have the funds sent to them in a check or wired to them.

Which banks are we dealing with? What is your bank and what is the receiving bank? Is this a domestic or international wire?

I have to send a wire transfer to hong kong. The place does not except pay pal unfortunatly. I also do not want to become a memeber of some online bank. Here is the info thanks.

Assuming you have a local bank (Bank of America, Wells Fargo, US Bank, Washington Mutual, etc.) walk into the branch and tell them you want to initiate an international wire transfer in USD currency. Please contact Guns And Guys Co. and ask them to re-verify HSBC's SWIFT code it should be HSBCHKHHHKH not HKBCHKHHHKH. Here's how you would fill out your bank's wire transfer form (print this out and bring it with you):

Remember that you are going to be charged a wire transfer fee and so is the beneficiary, this is standard bank practice.

Depending on your relationship with the bank it ranges anywhere from $22 to $42. If I were to send a USD international wire it would cost me $42 I think.

Not that I can think of. Is there a reason why you're hesitant not to send a wire through your regular bank?

You could consider Western Union or American Express whatever they call it, it's easy BUT they charge you a % of the wire which will cost you A LOT!

What other method of sending a wire do you think exists?
