Wired Router / Wireless from Cable Modem

Hi,
This is probably easily answered, but I have a hard time with networking. I have a Linksys WRT54GL router running Tomato. Recently the wireless died on the unit. I activated the Wireless on my Actiontec PK5K cable modem / router from CenturyLink and connected all of the wireless devices to it.

My main computer is still using wired access to the internet, but I no longer have access to the wireless printer. I'm sure it is a simple fix, but I'm not sure how to set this up.

Would it be as simple as stetting up another network connection in Win7?

Thanks,
George

You'll need to log in to the interface of your router and put the printer on the network. The best thing to do, is probably run the setup software for the printer again. The wizard should probably take care of it.

Thanks smitbret,

The printer is getting its address from the cable modem. My computers that are connected wirelessly can print to it. My wired network has different DHCP addresses. Is that an issue? Router = 192.168.1.1. Modem = 192.168.0.1.

Put the linksys in bridge mode to turn off the dhcp. Move the wan cable to a lan port on the linksys.

Hi sdifox,
If I turn off the DHCP Server in Tomtao on the Linksys, is that effectively turning it into bridge mode? I have a wired Access Point coming into the Linksys. Both would now be handled now by the Actiontec router, correct?

I am not familiar with tomatoe but there should be a bridge mode or AP mode. You have to turn off dhcp and nat.

Thanks for the help guys! I knew it should be pretty easy for someone who knew what they were doing. I did turn off DHCP in Tomato. I also had to change my WAN setting from STATIC to DISABLED in addition to moving the cable from WAN to LAN.
