Some of the Cingular phones are showing up as if the customer would make money after instant rebate...

Does that actually mean they would send you a check with your phones?

Edit: I take it back... It was like that yesterday... I guess I should have jumped on the deal then!

so I may have missed this.... I'm pretty sure I CAN'T renew a contract with cingular on one of these deals... can I? I know their "with 2yr contract" prices from the cingular website apply.... but these deals work ONLY with a brand new account, right?

or is there a way for me to do this?

You can absolutely renew the contract with Cingular. However they do cause headache when you try to reduce the minutes or change a family plan to an individual. I have "heard" t-mobile is much more flexible for these matters.
I just transferred mine from cingular to t-mobile using lets talk because cingular charged $50 for the berry data plan and the same plan is $20 at t-mobile.

My experience with wirefly/inphonic has not been that good. Try ushopwireless for individual plans especially for berrys
a1wireless also has very good deals for individual plans.

Let's talk's customer support is also awesome if you find a better offer call them and they will match the offer and give you some extra stuff.

Treo 650's are free under cingular...
no rebates just free.

2 free would be nice but paying 69.99 for 700 shared minutes for 2 years is retarded.
even counting ebaying off the treo for $300

So i ordered 1 with a 39.99 450minutes 2year contract

(as long as you dont DECREASE your plan in 181 days they wont charge you a fee)

once I have phone ill INCREASE my plan to the 1500 minutes for 49.99

Last summer as in 2005? Because they may not come after you to collect the penalty until after at least 6 months. Very risky in my opinion.

Prices updated in the OP, FYI.
Wirefly has obviously not changed this link like we thought they would. I'm thinking I'll maybe make this more of an official tracking thread and update it like once a month. Would that be valuable?

by increase a plan, they mean the price, not the features

that's the point. No wirefly rebates at this link. (or no wirefly rebates for most of these deals)

I cant believe they haven't figured out yet that this link is public!!! These no rebate deals can't possibly be making Wirefly any money. I already have a new phone, but I'll tell my friends before Wirefly shuts this link down.

Anyone understand cingular's data usage disclosure? Is this internet? I am thinking about upgrading my AT&T Wireless line a Cingular Family Plan with 2 lines and getting Razor phones for $19.99 and activation of $27 per line. It's cheaper than going to Cingular directly but if they want to pay another person a commission rather than giving me a good deal upfront, then it's on.

I doubt it would fly because AT&T Wireless = Cingular so you're not a new customer.

OK, so say I sign up for one of these deals that requires a one- or two-year contract. Current price is 59.99 per month.

At the end of that contract, if the price has gone up to 79.99 per month, what happens? Do I keep the 59.99 rate I've had for two years? Or do I now pay 79.99?

Actually, he'd be migrating over, so in a lot of cases, they are eligible for new customer promotions.

I went into this deal very leery. I bought two E815 phones with 100% rebate (two rebates per phone, Verizon two year plan). When I submitted both of the early rebates, I got one check in a very timely manner but not the second. I called up Wirefly, got switched to Verizon and got the absolute best treatment I EVER got from a CSR, especially regarding rebates. He determined they put the wrong zip code on my rebate, cancelled it and sent me out a duplicate check immediately.

I haven't reached the threshold yet for submitting the second (and far larger) set of rebates, but I'm happy with my treatment so far.

I will note however, that it took Wirefly or Verizon forever to ship my phones. Wirefly kept blaming Verizon and hinted that it was a credit rating problem, but my credit is sterling and the phones eventually came. I think it took about a month or so to receive them.

PS: The E815 is a nice phone, but it violates one of my pet peeves-it's just too big. Why can't anyone make a modern phone and leave the useless cameras out? I'd much rather have a combo phone/mp3 player or phone/PDA.

Check this out.

Under sprint, the first phone is a Sanyo MM-8300 red. The current offer is apparently -$420.00 when purchases with a new 2 year contract!

I don't have the stones to try it but someone ought to, that's free service for a year!

Ha! My dad and I finally convinced mom to join the digital age and get a cell phone. She got the black RAZR. She never would have gone for a high-end phone like that, probably would have gone for one of the free phones, but the RAZR was ONLY $20!!!

They have some really nice phones for free ... I guess it pays to be Friends or Family. LOL

Just so you don't have to keep clicking the back button to get to the no-rebates deals, here's a link to the start of this thread.

p.s. no way my mom would have been able to follow through on the Wirefly rebate requirements Wirefly rebate requirements in 6 months. She's too ditzy.

Thought I'd follow up on my purchase. Originally purchased a Verizon 40/mo plan w/Samsung SCH-i730 phone with them for 200 bucks strait up. This was when the phone was for 550 bucks at most places back in September 2005. Frankly the deal on the phone I got sounded too good to be true.

Fast forward to now and so far haven't seen any wierd discreptencies from them. I DID use my credit card company's "one use CC number generator" for my purchase as read a lot of shady things about them however.

As long as you don't have to deal with the rebates I think they're ok to deal with. Just make sure you use one of those single use credit card numbers so they can't try anything shady down the line.
