I've just moved into a new warehouse and it doesn't qualify for DSL or cable internet. I'm in a dead spot and it sucks.

My house is 1.33 miles away and it has great DSL speed.

Does anyone here have any solution for me so I can bridge my home and my warehouse wirelessly?

Thanks for the help

I would go for a product built for this solution. I have links up to 7 miles using older Smartbridges equipment (B standard) and even farther, with great speeds using 5.8 Ghz Transio bridges.

802.16 is not experimental. It's been a IEEE standard since 04' however it is not really a practical solution for the scenario you've laid out. Provide your budget and those hear cane give more precise recommendations.

We have some of these to connect a building .8 mi line of sight (some tree tops, nothing major though)
Cisco Wireless

you should be able to find them for about $3500 ish...

Edit: and budget should always be a concern... IT projects can always run away if you are not careful. It just seems that it is a little pricey to just get internet. What else do you want for your network? What about a Verizon mobile card for a laptop (or even a desktop with a pcmica adapter)? That is only about 50 bucks a month-ish and should work if you get verizon signal in your warehouse.

I've been pimping Cisco wireless for years but you'd have to be a fool to pay twice the price of competing brands simply to have their IOS. Which all your getting extra when it comes right down to it. You dont' have to pay 3500 for a 1400 but you will be a ridiculous price to buy this hardware. If you really want high end but don't want to be bent over a table the Proxim's gear is pretty close to Cisco's, without their outrageous pricing model.

THAT expensive?? OMG that's way out of my budget.

I was looking at google staelite map and there is a freeway in between and some powerlines but it's 1.33 miles

I was thinking about this Hawking

I don't have exact models, Look wire 'Wireless backhaul' or "Wireless bridges" or "Link Radios" on the tranzio web page

we have a set of Airpoint XO's (iirc) as a backhaul (2 miles) and an Airpoint Pro as the AP, with different bridges for clients (Airpoint Indoor, etc)

the smartbridges stuff is older, they have totally revamped product lines, but we have had good luck picking up stuff on Ebay
