Wireless disconnecting after reformat

I have a Linksys Wireless G USB adapter. Whenever I try to transfer files across the network, my wireless adapter instantly disconnects and reconnects to the network. However, when I access my web server on my home network via HTTP, I can download at about 1 mbps without any problems. What's wrong here?

Bump. Now it seems to be disconnecting randomly...

Do you have WEP enabled? If so, did you use the Netset application that linksys supplies on their website? This will make sure the system you're accessing from has the proper network key and isn't just temporarily grabbing on.

I'm using WEP PSK encryption. I just installed the driver for my wireless adapter, configured windows to use a static IP, then found my wireless network with the Linksys wireless utility and connected to it with the key. It worked perfectly fine before I reformatted my computer yesterday.

Are you using your laptop? I remember successfully connecting to it with my laptop, except then once I tried to actually access anything on the laptop, like that StarCraft game, the connection would break.

Eh, nope, this is with the desktop. The laptop works just fine. So it must be the adapter.

Could this be because of the nVidia ActiveArmor firewall? How do I know if I have it on?

Have you tried updating the firmware? amd did you have the activearmour firewall before the reformat?

There's no firmware for the adapter on the Linksys website. I already have Sveasoft Talisman firmware on my WRT54G router.

I dont think I had the ActiveArmour. I don't think I have it now either, but I'm not sure. How do I find out?
