Question "wireless" external hard drive

Hi, I currently had a couple of external hard drives wired to a powered usb hub, which is wired to the usb port on my laptop

I want to do one of two things, one of them is (probably?) easier.

Either I want to wirelessy connect the USB hub to the laptop, or I want to wirelessly connect a single external hard drive, to the laptop (the external hard drive would have it's own mains power supply)

a standard 1TB 2.5" hard drive will set me back about £45, which is fine.

doing a search for bluetooth hard drives seems to put them in the £150 area, which isn't preferable. also do bluetooth hard drives go for 'complete' portability and use their own battery power? (not preferable either)

basically ideally I want to find a way to wirelessly connect my usb hub to the laptop, I'm not sure if this is possible. the range doesn't have to be more than a few metres. Hope I've asked that question clearly

Unfortunately wireless USB never took off. I'd question using Bluetooth too, it's a bit on the slow side for a HDD. That leaves wifi, but I haven't seen any wifi-to-external-drive adaptors, other then the Kingston MobileLite series.

My wifi router has a USB port that I can plug a drive into and have wireless access to it.

someone will have to educate me on this, so it has a usb port or something to recharge the battery with? what sort of bandwidth would the bluetooth it uses have? my laptop has bluetooth so I assume it could connect with that?

would the wifi on it connect with my laptop? would I be able to make sure it doesn't connect with a wifi router? (or the bluetooth doesn't connect with any other bluetooth devices nearby)

ok I don't know if anyone can confirm this....after some googling, it said you can connect to two wifi sources simultaneously, if you have two wifi adapters?

The laptop has onboard wifi, and I can connect a USB wifi adapter to it

this should hopefully mean I can be connected to the wifi router, and wifi Asus WHD-A2 hard drive linked above, at the same time?

Just so happens that I have two active Wi-Fi sources - on comes with my ISP's modem, and the other from a router connected to it. My laptop connect to either one, and likewise my Kindle. I have had both active at the same time. So, I would say your idea will work.
