Is anyone here using wireless cans for watching TV or movies? There are a lot of times where I am up early or late and rather than having the speakers turned on and waking up the lady, it's nice to have headphones on.

So I picked up the Sennheiser RS126s http://www.amazon.ca/Sennheiser-RS12.../dp/B006HTKDWI and while they are ok, they are a bit uncomfortable and I get a small amount of interference here and there (the occasional click and some relatively mild white noise).

I was looking at alternatives and the only real worthwhile ones I could see were the RS180s http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B002...pf_rd_i=915398

So I'm wondering if anyone has these or any other ones (need to be able to plug directly into my receiver, preferably in the headphone jack) and if they are much better than the 126s as far as sound quality, reception, and comfort. I just don't feel like packing these up and returning them, then ordering the new ones (plus paying the extra couple hundred bucks) if it's not a significant increase in quality.

Thanks!

KT

or run a long cable? 1/4" extension wires are pretty easy to come by.

Yeah, I thought about that, but it would be a bit too far and I like the freedom of the wireless phones. I can go to the fridge and grab a beer without having to pause or unplug; very convenient.

Nobody else uses wireless headphones for watching TV?

Wireless will get you worse sound for more money, so if it were me, I'd deal with the cord and take the headphones off when I'm grabbing a beer. That being said, from everything I've heard, the Sennheiser RS160-180 are about as good as it gets without spending a ton of money.

As for how they compare to the RS126s you have, I have no idea since I haven't heard either set of headphones. Judging by the pictures you can see online and the few reviews you can find for the RS126s, the RS160 and RS180s look to be better constructed and more comfortable and there are no complaints about white noise.

Cool, thanks man. I am pretty sick of wires, so do not really want to add another long one if I can avoid it. Guess I'll pack up the 126s and order the 180s to see how it goes.

I have the 180s. I'm no audiophile, but they sound excellent to me. Have a set of 280s also, which have not been used since I got the 180s. Live in a condo with shared walls, so late night gaming/movies are a no go without headphones. Sit in my home theater seats with these and they're perfect.

That sounds perfect, thanks for the post. Sounds like they are exactly what I am looking for.

I just found some for $320 on ebay, so I think I am going to pounce on those and save myself $100.

Just to put a bow on this one, the RS180s showed up last week and they are soooo much better than the RS126s; it's night and day as far as sound quality and comfort. They fit way better on the head and the cups feel much nicer on the ears. No interference whatsoever yet either. Very, very happy with them and well worth the extra dough.
