wireless internet problem

I need some help, since the provider isn't at all helpful.

I just got wireless internet in my area. But I'm running into a problem that I don't think should happen.

The reciever bridge recieves the internet signal, then is uplinked to a wireless router for the rest of the computers to connect to.

But every time another computer tries to access the internet, the bridge changes frequency and channel and ALL computers lose internet connection.

Is there a way around this to prevent the bridge from doing this. We are using static IP address

I am asuming that that you are referring to your cable modem provided to you by your Internet Service Provider when you say "receiver bridge" which in turn is connected to your wireless router. What model and make is your wireless router and are you able to configure it? Who is your cable provider? I have heard complaints from Comcast customers because they do something with the IP address that causes your games etc to hang, which might affect you in a similar way, since you seem to have to more than 1 device on th same IP address, which is not illegal. Other ISPs do not have problems with this.

When you say that you are using a static IP address, are you referring to your network or your ISP. This might be the cause of all your problems. I cannot say much without knowing more about your wireless router.

No cable modem, no DSL. It really is wireless internet that a wireless bridge recieves from an antenna and that connects to my wl router. It is provided by PPL, my local power company, something new where they use the power lines to transmit the signals.
