I just got a used wireless explorer optical mouse... how long will the AA batteries last. Is there a way to turn the damn thing off w/out taking out the batteries?

Thanks in advance.

Granted I haven't seen every wireless mouse out there but I've never seen a way to turn them off when not in use.
My Logitech wireless usually lasts about three weeks before I have to change batteries and that is after having been used usually at least two hours a day.

The light should go out after so many minutes of non-use. As soon as you touch it, the light comes back on, so it seems like its on all the time.

LMAO...uh...buy some rechargeable batteries?!?! My Intellimouse lasted ~3-4 weeks on a set of rechargeables. Non-recharges will last a little longer.

Wireless and gaming don't mix unless you're using an MX700

That MX700 is pretty nice huh? It's worth the cash then? That unit has a rechargebale battery built in and a docking station, correct? I have a lot of questions, eh?

I just recently purchased the cordless MX Duo (Keyboard and MX700) and have found it to be pretty nice. It is still too early for me to determine battery life, but so far I have not had any problems with it.

I was thinking about getting wireless mouse/keyboard but now that I realized you need batteries for them, I don't think I will get them. Think about it, playing online and the mouse or keyboard dies...I would have thought that theres a power cord you connect to them

LOL. Then how would they be wireless

The mouse sits in a recharger when not used -- so chances are you won't have that dead mouse scenario ....

I love my MX700, the only downside I can see is that it's a bit heavy because of the batteries, compared to my old wired mice.
