Wireless Network - "Little to no connectivity" ??

I have a wireless network set up in my house. One of my roomates has a laptop with a built in wireless card. The signal strength is excellent, and at times he is connected to the internet, but it goes in and out and a message pops up saying "Little to no connectivity"

What does that phrase mean and what can I do to fix it? Thanks

not getting an IP...usually security stuff, like WEP, WPA, etc

fix a secure wireless like WEP or WAP I heard WAP is better than WEP with strong passcode.

usually it is a bad WEP code. Could also be a driver.

Hmm...so the computer that is trying to connect to the network needs a new code or the computer with the router?

The router I have is a Linksys WRT54G and I can go into the settings to look at WEP stuff, but how do I go about changing or fixing the settings?

i have a WRT55AG and i have the same problem. I'm 99% sure you cant get that error without first connecting to the router, so i would lean towards updating your wireless drivers on that computer or going on the linksys website and finding new firmware for the router. Like i said, i have that problem too, and i've never messed with my password.

You can access the settings from any web browser that is succesfully connecting to that router using internet explorer and putting 192.168.1.1 in the Adress bar. Type admin as the password and leave the user name blank.

Grab your user manual or find it on linksys' website, it'll guide you through the menus. Oh and beware linksys customer service. Last time i called about my router, the girl didnt speak english...
