just curious... what brand of router do you have?

linksys has been fairly painless for me.

The brand is "Actiontec." I was forced to either purchase it for $70 or rent it for $15/mo from Qwest when I moved in and applied/setup DSL. :roll:

Hey, at least I've got decent broadband. It's not a bad little router/gateway. The wireless sucks moose balls (obviously) but it's got some cool features.

sorry but I've been employed for 2 years now. and who the hell doesn't have pubic hair until they are 15? I had hair down there when I was 11.

That is your problem right there. Why the hell are you using a router you got from your ISP? Go out and buy a Linksys. This is what I did when I set up mine:

Installed wireless card.
Plugged in router.
Connected cable modem to WAN in the back of my router.
Went to my router's IP in my browser.
Entered the username/pass.
turned on 128k encryption
entered the network password on my desktop
reconnected to wireless network
surfed the net

took a total of 20min tops.
