I recently picked up an Acer Aspire One AOA150.
However, I've spent the past 2 days tearing my hair out over a single problem with it. This issue is simple - it will not detect wireless networks.
This does not mean that it will not connect. If I set it to automatically connect to the first detected network (or equivalent setting) in the wireless network's settings, it connects fine, with no issues at all.
This is a recent install, using nLite's "Lite" option for removal of as much cruft as possible with XP. I tried Acer's original set of drivers as posted on their website for the Atheros 5007 chipset, as well as the direct drivers from Atheros themselves.
However, no matter which drivers I attempt to use, I have been unable to successfully get the laptop to detect a list of networks via the "View Available Wireless Networks" option or equivalent, although it has no problem whatsoever connecting to the first open network it finds.
Reinstalling also does not work, and I have spent the past day or so trying to google any reasonable answer - none of which I have been able to find.
I am at a loss for what to do - would it be possible to get any suggestions?
