Hey guys

I have a Gigabyte GN-WMAG wireless PC card for my laptop. I can get it connected and pretty much working with a wi-fi broadband router, but it seems to every so often have a problem with receiving data packets.

It will do this every 5-10 minutes, for about 10-15 seconds at a time. It's running on the version 4.2.2.4 driver.

I have tried disabling all power saving features for the card, but nothing has helped.

Anyone have any idea how to remedy this?

Probably interference. Did you try changing channels?

Most Laptop has three to four independent power saving settings.

Why? Because we are the "enemy it it is always a good strategy to confuse the "enemy".

1. Spot one might be in the BIOS, enter into the BIOS at Boot and take a look.

2. The Wireless Card Drivers.

3. Windows Power saving setting.

4. Most current Laptops have in addition to the above a propriety power saving uility that run at Startup.

In addition make sure that your Wireless source is broadcasting the SSID.

Thanks for the answers guys

However, despite trying everything listed, my wi-fi card is still doing the same thing. The driver control program won't even let me change the damn channel it uses!
It seems to be okay if it has something to continuously download, while I'm surfing the web (like streaming audio\video, etc).

Hey guys

Finally tracked the problem down to being a faulty driver. Put in a new driver now, and everything's A for away
