wireless router and internet gaming

I want to set up a shared internet connection through my cable modem.

My cable company is ok with this they just won't provide tech support for it. But thats what you guy's are for..hehe

Question.....I do not want to lose any speed for online gaming on my main computer. Should I go with a hard wired solution or are the various wireless solutions capable of providing normal cable speed connectivity.

Also, if wireless is slower than hardwired, is there a wireless/wired combo router out there where I can wire my main computer which will sit next to my router and cable modem and then have a wireless solution for any other computers in the house?

Ther are few Cable/DSL Routers that are combo Ethernet, and wireless.
The usual setting is 3 Ports Ethernet, and one Wireless Access Point.

You can connect 1-3 computers with RJ-45 cables, and get the Max speed of 100TX.

The wireless part can be connected to more then 200 additional Computers that have Wireless Cad installed. The Wireless connection is rated 11Mb/sec. It is perfect for Internet, it is some what slow for regular network work.

According to what people reports on various BBS, and my own experience: It seems that a combination of Wireless Barricade (about $260), and Lucent Orinoco Silver Wireless Card (about $120) yields good results, for "modest price".

Well, it seems like 200 additional clients attached on one single access point will make the network really slow with very low throoughput. Most manufacturer recommend only between 10-30 clients for one access point.
