I have just purchased a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router and plugged it into my network... here's how everything is setup...
Linksys wireless router has my PC connected to it with CAT5 (second port) and my laptop connects to it through Wi-fi (54g). This router is uplinked to the Netgear router with CAT5 (first port).
The Netgear router (a DG814) just has the family PC attached to it (second port), and obviously the first port has the CAT5 cable to the Linksys router in it. This router has an integrated DSL modem and is setup to connect to our ISP (works fine).
Both routers have DHCP switched off as I assign static IPs on the network. The PCs and the laptop take the IP range 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.3, the Netgear router has the IP address of 192.168.0.101 and the Linksys router has the IP address of 192.168.0.102.
My PC and the laptop can see the Linksys router fine, but cannot see the Netgear router or the PC connected to it (which can see the Netgear router fine, but not the Linksys router or the PC and laptop connected to it), nor therefore can they connect to the Internet.
How do I setup the Linksys wireless router so that it can see the Netgear router, the PC connected to and so that my PC and the laptop can access the Internet?
I don't want to change the hardware arrangement at all, just settings on either the routers or the PCs, so please only suggest hardware arrangement changes if they are essential.
TIA for your help!
