Wireless Router connect to Wireless Access Point?

I have a Linksys wireless router, and my wife got me a Uniden Wireless access point for Christmas. Just wanted to hook TiVO up, but, now with the access point, can I plug the AP into a Hub/Swithc in the uplink port, and get the AP and the router to talk?

Just wondering if anyone has done this before, if it is even possible to have two wireless ap's on one network.

Bridging is not part of the 802.11b standard, or .11g etc... It may work, if your AP has a "client" mode. Perhaps it's called "ethernet bridge" mode or something similar. If it just says bridge, then that would likely be a point to point or Point to multipoint setting and wouldn't communicate with a device in AP infrastructure mode, nor does any Router/AP combo I am aware of have a bridging mode. That probably doesn't matter as I'd guess you want your AP/Router to continue broadcasting as an AP. So the answer is yeah, the possbility exists to make that work, whether or not you'll get different brand 802.11 gear to bridge is another story. Try it and see.

I connected my TiVo with CAT5, much more reliable.

If what you have is UNIDEN WNP-1000, then you have no luck.

The UNIDEN WNP-1000 is very rudimentary Access Point. It just does Gateway.

You need what is called in the above page Mode 5, and you have Mode1.

You need get a Card like the Linksys WET11 (They call it a bridge, but it is actually a Driverless Client Card). You plug the WET11 into the Tivo and you are in instantly connected.
