Good Afternoon Everyone,
Thank you in advance for reading this post, and I do appreciate your assistance.
Here's the scenario: Currently I have a WRT54G v.8 which I have QoS set for Port 1 to enable priority for the Xbox360. Firmware is current version, connections are fine, using all Cat5.
About one month ago, the router went out for no reason, so I restarted and everything went back online. However, since that outage, I get HORRIBLE latency and games stutter while playing on a regular basis. I reinstalled firmware as well as disconnect and reconnected everything with proper reboots.
To no avail, I think I need a new wireless router, hence my request for help!
Xbox360, PC, are hard wired, PS3 is wireless.
I have been reading many forums and everyone keeps referring to the:
1) D-Link DGL-4300 IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless Gaming Router
(which is no longer available from what I can find)
and
2) D-Link DGL-4500 IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11a/b/g, IEEE802.11n Draft Xtreme N Gaming Router
(which gets SLAMMED with bad reviews because of firmware and wireless problems)
Are there no other new gaming routers to choose out there? Why are these the only two everyone keeps talking about?
I would love your input and recommendations for a new router/setup, the Xbox 360 and PC being hard wired and used the most.
(Wireless is for work laptop and PS3 upstairs which is seldom played)
