wireless "send to tv" ability?

is there a decently cheap product that can send A/V to your TV? i was thinking of something that receives the signals and uses AV components or S-Video and Audio..

thanks.. but the cheaper ones only seem to take RCA cables as input instead of someting like PC speaker lines. i'm fine with the video component because my video card can send that out..

Either of those would work as well. You could always buy a $3 adapter at radio shack to convert from an 1/8" stereo plug to a pair of RCA outs as well.

Whatever you decide on, I would go with a vendor that has a no-hassle return policy, beacause you never know how well it will perform under your particular conditions.

Check out Buy.com's selection of 'wireless video senders' Problem is: they are all 802.11b, not 802.11g. Sending video wirelessly might be better served by 802.11g

my recomendation for you is to get a xbox and hack it throw on a wifi adapter and you have a great basic HTPC

Since I don't own an xbox, it would be just as cost effective to get the dlink device. I need a hot deal on that thing!!!

except the dlink thing won't have as much compatablity with different videos. also the xbox iwll do a whole lot mor that just video

Hmm? What do you mean? If the dlink's purpose is to transmit to the television whatever is playing on the pc, then why would there be some compatibility issues? Shouldn't it simply tell the tv wassup?

aye, everything's so expensive still. microsoft's Digital Joy is basically what i was looking for, but it's way over-priced and requires a network + windows 2005 media edition.. argh

The only good one is the lynksys A+G media center unit, or the hp clone. It has quality component and optical audio outputs. Note: for theese systems you must have Microsoft media center 2005 and dish out $299 plus a $75 wireless card for the pc (plus possibly a router for better performance). my 2 cents

grandtecusa.com has something more of what i'm looking for. but none of their products to seem to be able to accept S-Video IN, only can do OUT. those recent posts i made just before are actually inferior for my needs because they are kinda remote limited PCs that have to decode movies and stuff themselves. i want to leave that to my PC to decode all the millions of different codecs that are being used for files and send the S-Video quality material to my TV.
