Ok, I have a Netgear 802.11g wireless router. In the next room I have 3 computers without wireless cards in them which I need to get on the network. I have a little 4 port wired router which I want to feed off the wireless connection, then I could hook up the computers to the wired router. So the question is how to make a wireless connection wired so I can feed it into the WAN port of the wired router?

Thanks in advance.

Wireless adapter on one machine and then run ICS on it to share to the router. There is probably a better solution out there than this though.

You wouldn't use the WAN port on the second router. You'd simply use the switch ports. You also wouldn't use ICS. If you wanted to use a PC as a bridge then you'd bridge a wireless connection from a PC with a wired one then uplink the switch with a patch cable from that computers wired NIC to the switch. That or buy a wireless workgroup bridge or AP that has a client or ethernet bridge mode that will work with your wireless router.

Yep. A wireless bridge is your answer. You don't need to use ICS or get into anything complicated. Most hardware wireless routers out there now have a wireless bridge function built-in to the router.

I looked at Newegg and they only have 2 wireless bridges and the one that is in stock was ~150 which is way more then a wireless router. You mentioned that wireless routers now have wireless bridge functions built-in to the router. Is there any chance you could suggest one or two which work on 802.11b/g? The wireless router I have already is a Netgear if it helps to get the same brand.

Thanks.
