Wireless vs wired gaming latency

Router netgear wndr3700v3. Firmware wrt
USB adapter: to be purchased. All suggestions welcome.

I just moved from an apartment to a house. At the apartment I had Ethernet wires laying everywhere. I would really prefer not to do that again and prefer more not to run cables in the attic.

With a router like mine, would there be any real world noticeable differences in games? I know most people will tell you that you HAVE to have wired for gaming, but most of those people are just repeating other people.

My computer is maybe 30 feet from the router thru one wall.
Also what is a good adapter to use?

Being only 30ft away helps....but wired is best!!

Wired would win hands down. Wireless is a simplex and collision tech so it can't touch wired.

I just moved from wireless to wired and I notice no difference whatsoever.

But, then again, I mostly play mmo's and not FPS's where I think the latency would matter most.

MMO's also tend to have a certain amount adjustment to deal with latency. If your MMO has a way to list the ping however I would expect wireless to generally be higher. More so if you have any interference at all. Granted there are a lot out there than consider nearly 200MS to be "green" for MMO's.
