My cable connection is in my roommates room, and thus, the Microsoft Wireless Basestation (MN-500) is there. I'm connected wirelessly via a D-link network card. Here's the problem: I would like to be able to use my work laptop in my room; however, my employer will not allow anyone to connect wirelessly. Is there any way to use my desktop as a router with an ethernet cable or can a purchase a wireless device that will allow me to plug in an ethernet cable into the laptop and use it in my room? Basically, I can't install any hardware on the laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
