ok i want to wire up my house so that i will minimize wires running through hallways and along walls. the router is in one room of the house and i want all the rooms to have internet access. my idea is to have wall mouts with jacks so that my roommates can just plug their cat 5 cable in it to connect to the network. what kind of equipment do i need? i know i need things to put a hole in the wall for the wall mounts. i also looked at www.cyberguys.com and they have a cat5 rj45 keystone jack. do i need this? will these simply snap into the wall mount?
im thinking of having a router in one room of the house, and the router will have the dsl connected to the wan port, and all the of the lan ports have a cat5 cable with one of those cat5 rj45 keystone jacks at the end. then i will run the cat5 cables with the jacks run through the walls and end up at a wall mount in another room. does this sound like a good idea? can u guys give me some tips if u have wired your house? any info is appreciated! thanks!
