i have 3 runs of rg6 running from a closet to my living room. they are terminated with female f to female rca connectors.
i tried hooking up a dvd player in the closet and then from the wall in the living room to the receiver, but there is A LOT of hum on top of the music.
there is also a third rg6 cable running from the outside cable connection to the living room wall, then to the cable box, but there is no hum on there. this makes me think that the power outlet on the stud next to it does not have anything to do with it.
my question is, would hooking the receiver up in the closet, then running component cable through the connections to a tv; would that solve the interference problem since the receiver would amplify the signal better than the dvd player?
