Will democrats hold onto both seats up for a vote today or not? Turnout is reportedly high, as high as a gubernatorial race. In the 30+% range.

Best case for GOP is to take one of the two.

Will be interesting to see how it turns out since last week was a bust for the Democrats.
Could their base sit at home? Or do they push them out to prevent them from going backwards?

Doesn't look good for the repub that wanted the recall of Dems. Dems did better in their recall of repubs, at least they won a couple of seats.

"We The People" have spoken.

I think the fact that these elections are meaningless really kept turn out down and diminished the chances of the GOP picking one off.

But overall the GOP should be happy they kept the Wis Senate based on the amount of time, money and energy the unions put into these recalls.

Repub "outside" money was far more than the Dems "outside" money.

By time Walker can be recalled I think all the steam will have come out of the drive.

The results of the anti-union law is coming in and it looks very good for the state.

There are tons of stories about school districts that were able to make a few changes and save jobs and money and have smaller class size etc etc.

By this time next year the people will be able to look at the results for themselves and it will be less about "Republicans suck!!!" and more about reality and how the law turned out.

You call winning two seats a bust? They may not have won a majority, but they still won.

Went to a party, talked to six attractive women, four declined, the other two came with me for an incredible threesome.

What a bust.

Company A called up six employees at company B to try to get them to change sides. Two accepted.

What a bust.

The US sent out messages to six Al Queda leaders asking them to change sides. Two accepted.

What a bust.

Two Republican seats of six challenged changed parties cutting the Republican majority to one vote - and one Republican voted with Democrats on the union busting bill.

The picked the weakest seats they could find and focused a ton of money and energy on them and walked away with two of them when they needed three.

Not much of a victory.

The Wisc unions pumped $8 million into the election to win two seats. That is $4 million a seat. In 2010 total spending on ALL state senate seats was less than that.
The union group spent more money than all the candidates put together.

Overall spending looks to have been about 50/50 between sides.

Just a huge waste of time and money.

Even if Scott Walker was recalled (He won't be) the Republicans still hold the state house and senate.. NONE of Scott Walker's policies would be reversed.

All the more reason for Democrats to turn out in November to throw those bums out and vote for Obama while they are at it.

All the more reason for Democrats to turn out in November to throw those bums out and vote for Obama while they are at it.

So they would be voting for a return to the Democrat policies? So they want a multi-billion dollar budget shortfall, quite possibly the loss of public sector jobs to balance the budget, and business leaving the state in droves?

Walker has balanced the budget without laying off anyone and businesses and jobs are flocking to Wisconsin. What would the Democrats run on? We want to return the state to the shithole that Scott Walker inherited and fixed it record time? (Unlike the useless Bobo the Post Turtle)

Wisconsin Teachers Union Issues Layoff Notices To 40% Of Employees
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/16/wisconsin-teachers-union-_0_n_928152.html
The union had 100 employees... all paid for by the tax payers via union dues...

And you know how they'll vote in response?

Exactly... they're going to be pissed that the state didn't spend more money it does not have. They're going to rally behind and vote for a Democrat so they can deficit spend into an even bigger hole.

Yet the deficit is all the Rep's faults, but when it comes to spending a fortune on public employees, look no further than the Democrats.

This whole fight boils down to whether you want to bankrupt the state or not. Reps try to save it, Dems will destroy it.
