I think the fact that these elections are meaningless really kept turn out down and diminished the chances of the GOP picking one off.
But overall the GOP should be happy they kept the Wis Senate based on the amount of time, money and energy the unions put into these recalls.
By time Walker can be recalled I think all the steam will have come out of the drive.
The results of the anti-union law is coming in and it looks very good for the state.
There are tons of stories about school districts that were able to make a few changes and save jobs and money and have smaller class size etc etc.
By this time next year the people will be able to look at the results for themselves and it will be less about "Republicans suck!!!" and more about reality and how the law turned out.
Both elections called for the (D) candidates.
Best case for GOP is to take one of the two.
Will be interesting to see how it turns out since last week was a bust for the Democrats.
Could their base sit at home? Or do they push them out to prevent them from going backwards?
By time Walker can be recalled I think all the steam will have come out of the drive.
You call winning two seats a bust? They may not have won a majority, but they still won.
The picked the weakest seats they could find and focused a ton of money and energy on them and walked away with two of them when they needed three. You call winning two seats a bust? They may not have won a majority, but they still won.
Even if Scott Walker was recalled (He won't be) the Republicans still hold the state house and senate.. NONE of Scott Walker's policies would be reversed.
All the more reason for Democrats to turn out in November to throw those bums out and vote for Obama while they are at it.
