Wisdom teeth update..

I got all 4 impacted wisdom teeth out yesterday afternoon.. And all I can say now is.. thank God for codine.. I would have killed myself already if it weren't for drugs.. It's over 24 hours later and I can feel it as soon as the codine wears off.. I mean damn.. the pain isn't just in the gums/jaw.. it's going right up my temples and into my head.. it's like I got hit in the jaw with a pipe and then again in the head.. Is it supposed to hurt this bad?

Yes it is. Make sure not to drink out of a straw and change your gauze frequently. If you want to avoid looking like a chipmink for too long, put ice packs on both sides.

Ouch. Dentist said my jaw is big enough i don't have to worry about getting them removed, unless i don't take care of them.

I'm going in January to get a filling in one of them.

OMG.. just what I dont need to hear.. Ive been having teeth probs.. and Im thinking they just might have to come out.. I have a big phobia.. wont go the dentist.. and now hearing that..

I've had all 4 wisdom teeth removed but not all 4 at the same time. I had 2 pulled and then the other 2.

It didn't hurt that bad, but I went to an oral surgeon instead of a dentist. The difference was that the oral surgeon put me under anesthesia and did a great job. I would never go to a dentist to get a wisdom tooth pulled.

I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed about 4 months ago. Was off the codine by the end of the day (only took one pill). I was sooo lucky, worst part is changing the gauze if you ask me (either that or the stitches when you're trying to eat).

i had two taken during the summer. It took 20 min for each. One of em' had a big ol' cavity forming.

Two wisdom teeth on the bottom recently erupted for me.. and they're seeming to do well. I'm past the painful points.
Now my upper right wisdom tooth is erupting. It's a bit sore at times. Luckily nothing is impacted.

I'm 17, and my wisdom teeth haven't even started to come in yet... I don't want to be in mid-twenties when they do!

Yer all worked up over nothing. I promise you won't have to go to the dentist... that's because an oral surgeon is the one who removes wisdom teeth I had my removed when I was 16. It wasn't too bad. I was drugged outta my mind the day it happend and slept all day. Mine never hurt too bad. I only remember taking meds the first day. But I'm not a big on taken meds to begin with, so...

Same here. I had them out when I was 16, I hardly even remember it; no big deal. All I took afterwards was some Advil (they knocked me out for the surgery of course). I took the gauze out as soon as I woke up, spat the blood out of my mouth and that was about it. The stitches just dissolve away.
