Witch at 7-11

At 7-11 last night. Grab a Big Gulp and 6-pack for later. Approach the counter,
the women in front of me is told she wasnt in line.. get to the back..
Huh? She was there before me... oh well, whatever..
Some new lady is at the register, she asks for my I.D...give it to her.

"This isnt you, cant sell you the beer."
"What!?!.. that's my I.D."
"It's not you..not the same haircolor"

What, she hasn't heard of hairdye? I go there almost everyday, and one of the cashiers
usually there is at the other register. I look at her for her to vouch for me. She cant do anything,
she says...I'm pissed. Ask for my ID back.

"Ok, $1.03 for the drink."
"I dont want it, anymore"
"I saw you take a sip, you're GOING to pay for it"
"Yeah, right.."

Go out to my car. The lady runs out and starts taking down my license plate!
Flip her off as I pull out, and drive away.







Now, I have to go an extra block to get to the next 7-11...sucks

As for the Big Gulp... my 7-11s near me have signs that say "satisfaction with the drink or money back" ... tell 'em after the witch gave you a hard time, the drink had a bad taste.. you weren't satisfied.

I had someone tell me that I wasn't old enough to buy beer at 7-11 once because my id said under 21. Well of course it did, I was under 21 when the picture was taken. I had to walk acroos the street to get my beer. It turned out good because the beer was cheaper and the store was a little closer to the house.

7-11 is over priced anyway. You're better off going somwhere else.

I once had a clerk refuse to sell me liquor because my ex-wife was with me and she left her purse in the car, hence she had no ID. I gave her a piece of my mind and have never gone back.

Hey guys, it is the law.. I managed a convenience store for a lot of years.. And its a pain in the a$$.. Just a real quick note: ok.. some kid gets busted for underage smoking. He gets a $50 ticket. Now, when they find out what store sold him the cigarettes and what clerk, that clerk gets a $500 fine and loses her job.

Not fun. I didn't lose any employees because of cigarette stings (and yes cops do tobacco stings with minors working for them), but I did lose a couple to alcohol stings. The last girl got a $1000 fine, lost her job, and state law will not allow her to be employed anywhere where there is alcohol for 10 years. Really destroys a person.. and that was her FIRST offense, and hey, I watched the video the next day, and the kid looked old enough.. She just didn't ask for ID...

Think about it.. It may be a pain for you to dig out that ID, but think of what that clerk might be put through if she doesn't ask for it..

sciens - i know you had yours on you, but hey, its tough. The cops even send in kids with fake id's.. Me? I'd rather refuse the sale and be safe, than sorry!

That may be, but should a clerk risk her job &amp; reputation when her instincts are telling her that something's wrong? It may be due to lack of education, but it's better for them to be safe than sorry. I know it's a dumb example, but when my sister was little (maybe 6), I offered her four quarters for a dollar. She thought I was trying to cheat her, since the four quarters didn't physically cover the dollar. Yes, she was wrong. She was not properly trained. But to the best of her knowledge she was getting cheated, &amp; she wasn't willing to take the risk.

I understand the reason they did it but they should never have been in that situation. Without proper training they probably let more invalid ids through than they think though.

Yakko: You are right, and in your case, the clerk was wrong. And ViperGTS did make a good point.. I know from experience, training is really bad in that field. About the only training I really recieved the entire time I worked for the company was &quot;check the date and picture&quot; and &quot;If you have questions, look at the book under your register&quot;

Well the book only shows like 2 example licenses from each state, and doesn't really give any info on what to look for on fake id's or anything..

So training is a big issue.. but still, I refused quite a few sales because hair color, etc. may have been different than the picture. Its really hard to judge and you can't sit there and examine a picture for a long time to try and determine if it is the same person. It may not seem fair, I know. it sux..

Edit:

One more thing, once a clerk asks for ID, its out of their hands. The customer has to show valid ID or the sale cannot be made. You can't even have another cashier vouch for you once the question is asked.. its a wierd law...

If I was unsure I would request a second ID, if I still felt strange about the situation I would refuse sale. If the 2nd form of ID was acceptable then I would go ahead...

When I was 22 and my gf was 24 we went to the club and they refused he entry and said she had a fake ID and tried to keep it, we ended up in a shouting match and got her ID back and left, havent been back sense. They were complete jerks about it, besides the fact that we were outside in the dark and he wouldnt have been able to tell either way.

Viper and yakko both have valid points. With training, things like this shouldn't happen, but it's good to see the employees trying. A good example of the need for proper training would be the cashier who gave out what was it 198$ in change to the guy who paid with a 200$ bill that said something about broccoli on it.
