First, sorry if this is the wrong location. Wasn't sure where this should go.
Here is my problem:
I like to keep all my audio files in lossless formats. However I also sometimes like to buy music online. Until recently (to my knowledge) no one has sold lossless music downloads. Enter Music Giants! (http://musicgiant.com)
This site sells lossless WMA downloads. With one catch, DRM. (The bane of my existence!) Here is the deal, I want to be able to download WMAs, then convert them to AAC lossless, and sync them to my iPod. Obviously I can't do that if they are DRMed.
So I was trying to figure out if fairuse4WM supports lossless files, when the idea struck me: hey, couldn't I just burn the lossless files to CD, then re-rip them to AAC lossless?
Does anyone know if this would cause quality degradation and if so how bad? My thought is that since you are just going from WMA lossless to CD lossless to AAC lossless, there really shouldn't be a problem.
I welcome any suggestions. Basically I just want lossless, DRM free, AAC files. Is that so much to ask? (I'm looking your way iTunes store )
Thanks in advance for your help!
