While for those that remember the run up to the war with Iraq, this was the loation where literally hundreds of Iraqi tanker trucks were driving to. This is also the location of a massive excavation project for no particular reason. It is also the loaction where Israel, Jordan, France, UK, and US intelligence feel Saddam has hidden his WMD.

If this is such a well known location and that every country knew where this great cache of WMD's have been hidden, the why in hell has it taken them over two years to go take a look? If there was even the slightest chance that this is the location, and as desperate as dumbya has been to prove he is not a liar, I really believe that even as dumb as dumbya is he would have ordered the site inspected.

That dummy beat both of your candidates. Under that dummy, the republicans gained seats in the Senate and House. Under that dummy, the democrats are out of power.

If you guys are getting your butt creamed by someone as dumb as Dumbya, what does that say about you?

Pathetic people.

Those WMD's might be in Syria, Bekaa Valley or they may not be there. But we do know Iraq had WMD's, even Clinton said so. Even Kerry said so. Just a matter of finding them.

Gotta love it-

"Those WMD's might be in Syria, Bekaa Valley or they may not be there. But we do know Iraq had WMD's, even Clinton said so. Even Kerry said so. Just a matter of finding them."

Yeh, right. You'd have a better chance of finding the $9B that just sort of disappeared from the occupation authority's coffers... I suspect finding sasquatch would be easier, too...

Don't lump me in with those who think Bush is stupid, please. He's not, and his advisers, particularly Rove, are quite shrewd. They tell people what they want to hear, and are believed, time and again, even when there's no evidence in support and much against. It's like the Virgin Birth. Raildogg's comments, above, prove my point. There's absolutely no credible evidence to believe the accusation, but he does, anyway... because he wants to. Absolutely stupefying.

Reminds me of your post from a few weeks back where you essentially ask, "What? No bad news out of Afghanistan? Must be a resounding Bush success!" Followed by your usual Bush-cheerleading.

Then of course, last week a Presidential report was issued and indicates what we already knew about Afghanistan -- that it's devolved into a lawless, drug-producing state run by warlords.

Hey Deal, let's just assume he's right (please clean the coffee from your monitor before continuing). There are WMD's in this Bekaa Valley. Would anybody believe that the stuff wasn't planted? I certainly wouldn't, would you? (resume coffee-drinking).

If (stop the coffee intake) there were some WMDs there, who would have planted them.
WMDs have signatures.
Syria can control of the area.

It says nothing about us. What is says is that 51% of American voters in the 2004 election (if you believe the results) are stupider than dumbya.

It's sad that people can't look at this objectionally. As much as France refuted against the reasons for entry in the war (not just WMD's). Why would they agree with many other intelligence communities concerning information about where WMD's may have been hidden?

you also have to admit....even our news agencies aren't credible, why in the world would a link give anybody else credibility. You can spare the "objective reporting" crap...everybody provides bias towards their reporting.

Actually, the mainstream media beat the other candidates and got the dems out.

BTW, who was Kerry debating? It sure wasn't Bush. And that came out when???

AFTER the election! Thanks "fair and balanced" media.

Has the media hit on this yet? Of course not. Will the media collapse when their anti US WMD arguments fall on their faces? I hope so? How many strikes are we going to give the left?

So let's get this straight: You're saying that WMDs really DO matter, and are THE justification for invading Iraq? And you're also saying that this "promoting freedom" line is just cover for the Right to evade responsibility for its blunders? I'm asking because YOU (and your right-wing cronies) don't get to have it both ways: Either WMDs are "the reason", or they're not. If they don't exist, then Bush and company get well-earned raspberries from all us liberals, and you flag-waving wackos are obliged to admit, "Yeah, we sacrified $200 billion (and counting), 1500 lives (and counting), national security, and international good will - all that - for NOTHING but the fevered fantasy of a mental midget and his band of merry idiots." On the other hand, if the Bekka valley contains the mother loade of Iraqi WMDs, you righties get bragging rights.

Now which is it? Make your choice. Put up or shut up. No more "heads I win, tails you lose".

I never didn't say that WMDs were not the sole most important justification for invading Iraq.

That should cover most bounds of plausible deniability 8)

As for Irwin - one thing I have never seen anyone attempt to theorise in these kind of claims - presuming he did so, why *did* Saddam ship his WMDs to Syria ? Was it some kind of twisted plot to sacrifice his freedom, life, power, cash and country in a desperate effort to embarass America or what ?

President Bush 'Plays' It; Ted Kennedy Eats It

"But George W. Bush, the playwright, is letting history write his third act in the Middle East. He knows what the Israelis, the CIA, and just about every other intelligence agency in the world already knows: that satellite photos of the transport of WMD from Iraq exist. President Bush knows that those photos pinpoint the location, exact size down to the exact depth these weapons are stored in containers buried under the farms in the Bekka Valley of Lebanon as well as in Syria. But why miss an opportunity to increase the drama, let the world unload on you, when you know it is just a matter of time before your third act has a real punch line and you go off into the sunset as the lonely cowboy who took the world on and won? Hollywood would reject that script as not realistic. So as it unfolds, just enjoy."

If any of this holds any truth to it at all(this is a blogger) it will have the dems in DC shaking in der boots and the chairmen of the ATP&N Bush Scare on suicide watch.

Although this editorial is far fetched, it's all there is on this subject

And I never thought the right wasn't denying that WMDs couldn't be a non-essential justification for not invading.

Guess we agree.

Well, y'know, Syria says they will depart all of Lebanon in two weeks except the Baaka valley. They say it will take them three months to get out of the Baaka valley. Wonder why the difference. They must have a lot of bars to close and a lot of property to sell in the valley, y'think? Maybe they have a lot of heavy stuff to sneak out?

Maybe they need time to sell their condo timeshares. Maybe they need time to cover up the alien spacecraft.

Because the Bekaa valley is on the border with Syria, and it's where they have their military base in Lebanon. So, yes, they probably do have a lot of bars to close and property to sell ( depending on if they own it or not ? do they legally have title to the land it's on or did they just take it anyway ? )

And, yes, they absolutely are going to sneak a lot of heavy stuff out - tin foil hats on, but the withdrawl of Syrian forces is absolutely going to be accompanied by a "mysterious" convoy of trucks which they will probably claim has their "equipment" in it.
