Not to mention that Ferraro didn't just say it once, she said something stupid (which we all do from time to time), then made it worse by continuing to support her claim and get even MORE obnoxious about it. The media and the public are willing to forgive a lot of stupid stuff, but not if someone refuses to do the smart thing when confronted with a stupid comment they made.

Just like Romney won something like 90% of Nevada, which just so happens to be a mormon state, just like he is. Or how Huckabee just so happened to win over many of the evangelicals, since he can be considered an evangelical.

Are they voting for them because their values match and it just so happens that people of the same race/color/religion/sex share a lot of the same values?

But in this PC world how dare she say such a thing. It's naive and stupid, but to dismiss that thought merely because it appears to be racist is ridiculous. I think it holds enough water to be evaluated. And I'm not just talking in the case of Obama.

You don't even get it, dude. She wasn't saying that he's getting all his votes because he's black. She was saying that he wouldn't be in his current postion if he wasn't black. The truth is Obama has been primped for this position for quite some time. They singled him out as a future political star, gave him that speech at the national convention, and pretty much set him up for all of this.

If you think it's just because he's a smart, well-spoken guy, they you're very naive. There are plenty of other smart, young politicians out there but they don't get the star treatment of an Obama. It's no coincidence that he's black, he has been set up to be the first black president.
