The truth is Obama has been primped for this position for quite some time. They singled him out as a future political star, gave him that speech at the national convention, and pretty much set him up for all of this.

If you think it's just because he's a smart, well-spoken guy, they you're very naive. There are plenty of other smart, young politicians out there but they don't get the star treatment of an Obama. It's no coincidence that he's black, he has been set up to be the first black president.

Hm, seems there was another smart, well-spoken guy who did get the star-treatment back at the 1988 Democratic Convention, and got to speak (for quite a long time!) and was introduced to the American public. You might remember that guy...

His name was Bill Clinton. (Hey, wasn't he our first black president? )

Oh, and since your memory seems to be failing, you might also need to know that Hillary got a chance to speak at the 2000 DNC. Damn the DNC for putting those smart, well spoken politicians out there just because they happen to be a woman and female.

So, can you tell me again how is Obama is more 'singled out' than Bill or Hillary was?
