Yup, they do. At Yellowstone.
Watch this 5 min video, it's bloody amazing, if you like nature, you'll love this. It's nothing short of astounding how big of an impact the reintroduction of Wolves to Yellowstone was/is.

In 1995, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, along with Canadian biologists, captured 14 wolves in Canada and placed them in Yellowstone National Park, where they had been extinct since 1926. Over the next few years, the number of wolves rose, but that was the least of the changes that took place in Yellowstone.

The effects were more striking than anyone could have expected. The entire ecosystem of the national park transformed and it went so far that even the rivers changed. How could this have happened? Watch the clip and marvel at the amazing way in which nature works.

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. A source of all true art and science."

+1 for trickle down economics.

I thought this was really cool.

For some reason, I really hated this. Something about the way they tell the story. It seems insincere, embellished, and egotistical. It's like they set out to talk about their personal lives in the guise of a nature documentary. I don't give two shits about their personal lives.

NM, not going there.

It is a protected species, it appears, for some bizarre reason.

I came upon a thread on Reddit, I think in the philosophy sub or somesuch. The topic was a debate over the ability to genetically engineer carnivores to become herbivores - not so much if it was possible but whether it was a worthy goal. And some of these nutjobs were actually arguing for it! I couldn't believe what I was reading. Aside from the obvious ramifications of doing this, just the sheer audacity to believe that it would be a worthwhile end result, was mind boggling.

The article I mentioned earlier:
http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09/19/the-meat-eaters/?_r=0

But ought we to go further? Suppose that we could arrange the gradual extinction of carnivorous species, replacing them with new herbivorous ones. Or suppose that we could intervene genetically, so that currently carnivorous species would gradually evolve into herbivorous ones, thereby fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy. If we could bring about the end of predation by one or the other of these means at little cost to ourselves, ought we to do it?
