Same, if I can't try the grapes, I won't buy them.

There are signs on those "fill your own bag" bins of various dried fruits, nuts, etc that say no sampling. I'm going to assume they didn't have a no sampling sign next to the chicken.

Then ask the store to get you a sample or don't buy them.

I never have. I'm guessing Fern never has. It's disgusting. Let the store hand out samples.

I never have because:

1. I was raised different than the "free to sample" crowd.
2. I do not know how many hands were touching those fruits and no washing but put that in my mouth? No thanks.

Maybe you don't see or understand, but I always pay for the food. always. Seems like you are suffering from the same logic failure the other poster is.

Where have I said that you didn't?

Its happened six times grand total for me so far in 12 years of having this problem. I have supplies, I carry them in a backpack with me. The other poster just assumed I did this all the time, didn't even ask me. He assumed wrong. When I can stand the delay, I do buy the food then go outside the store and eat it (usually in the car) and then go back to shopping or go home if I am feeling really bad.

It's easy to sit here pecking at me since I am talking about it, go peck on the people that don't pay at all instead.

When/where have I attacked you? Perhaps you have confused me with this other poster? If you have an issue with somebody else I would suggest you should address them directly.

I have even gone back to correct them for undercharging errors even when it was my last money and I was hurting for money - more times than I have had to eat in this fashion. Can you say the same? Once they undercharged me on some big ticket items by almost a hundred dollars and I corrected them. Would you? Have you?

Yes.

Even though I must use a wheelchair me and my aide actually take karts that have been placed willynilly in the parking lot in to the store when we go in, almost every single time we go. We do not put things we decide to return in random places in the store, we return them to the proper place, even when we feel like crap and are ill.

How nice...I do the same.

I don't pick on people that actually talk about things reasonably on a forum.

You just did.

To me it sounds like both of you have a problem with basic logic and a guilty conscience as well.

Interesting.

None of this really changes the fact that eating in a store is dirty and wrong. If you had to do it in an emergency, then like I said, I understand (as long as it gets paid for as well).

Just to clarify, eating 2 boxes of fried chicken and a soda in the store because you were "starving" does not constitute an emergency. Nor does stealing produce to "sample" (especially those who only pay when they decide they want to buy).

This is a winning thread right here.

'Never heard of misdemeanors' and 'reported a guy to management for eating a grape.' You both get a prize.

How so? As a libertarian you should support property rights. Obviously it was determined that the customers were not infringing on the store owner, but I think it was reasonable to ask about that.

I do support property rights. And the property owner said he didn't care. But Craig still got his little girl panties all twisted up in knots about it. Because he's nuts.

This thread is hilarious.

Still holding my side over that poster claiming to eat entire meals in the store with no problem..but still going back to pay for the empty wrappers.

I've only the milk duds from the candy section. Granted, the "samples" are 10c. I'd just put two quarters in the box and dump a little scoop in my hand.

I stopped at a White Castle a few months back and while the cashier was taking my money she took a drive thru order. She told me after taking his order that she knew who he was. She then told me he was in a few weeks before and jerked off and came all over the sink and wall in the rest room.

So yeah if it could happen at White Castle it could happen at Walmart.

We just scraped cum off the walls. Here's your food!

Okay, I'll rephrase.

EVERYONE with a brain eats a grape or two to test.

There, happier now that you're excluded?

No, don't try to justify your sleazy behavior by saying everyone does it. Everyone most certainly does not do this.

I've grabbed sodas out of the cooler at a pizza place and sat down to wait for my pizza and have a drink, but I always pay for my drinks when I get my pizza. I generally, although not every time, ask the pizza guy if that's ok.

Never had a pizza place complain about that yet.

Grocery stores, a little different. I don't eat fruit off of the shelf. First, that's disgusting, and second, how are you going to pay for what you ate, if they cost per pound? Do those of you who do that, weigh their fruit before eating, and make a note of the PLU and weight?

I guarantee you that most of the people eating grapes in the store probably aren't going to pay for them unless they get caught.

I guarantee you that mostly you're a dumbshit.

Go buy some grapes.

Tell the cashier, 'I ate one. Please charge me for one additional grape.'

Observe as he/she sighs, rolls their eyes, or performs any other kind of 'oh my god just fuck off' signal. And then does nothing.

Or laughs at you because they think you're joking. But I have a feeling you don't get that a lot.

Walking through my local Walmart, the worst I have seen eaten and left on shelves was a 5 lb bag of gummy bears where half the bag was gone. Soda, chips, candy bars, bread, boxed crackers, and cookies are almost a routine occurrence. It is very common to see people do this in the checkout lines in front of the cashiers.

I've been in our grocery store and let my kids eat the cookies or muffins from the bakery while we walk around and do the shopping.

We always pay for the items after the fact. It's not uncommon.

When mine were little I did the same. Im stil mm paying for it who gives a shit. Its no different than paying after eating dinner.

Walmart promotes it with the popcorn chicken tumblers they sell at the deli.

If your disability is so bad that you must steal food to keep from dying then you need to be better prepared when leaving the house.

What a bunch of bullshit to blame your disability for theft. I can see once, in some emergency, but clearly you do this all the time.

Idiot, how is it stealing if he pays for it
