It's fine to remove a criminal from society/the world. It's wrong to maim people for the sake of making us feel satisfied. People say make criminals think twice with obscene punishments... the problem is they never even think once. If they did 90% of crime wouldn't happen in the first place.

I personally do not agree with the Osama deal. He needed to be removed from the planet for the safety of the US, but we just resorted to the same tactics terrorists use and sadly our civilians rejoiced.

IMHO, the US has become a nation in fear rather than a nation of patriots. My wife truly worries that I am going to meet my end just doing the right thing while a bunch of people stand around doing nothing.

The sad part is once they realize how much of a failure they were instead of rising above that, they will openly discuss how I did the wrong thing and that's why I was killed.

There aren't always signs, and when there are, they're not always obvious. It's not like one day a flashing sign appears above someone's head saying "danger this person may commit mass murder one day." A lot of people who commit violent crimes are just very quiet and keep to themselves. Is that a sign? Uh, no, a lot of people are quiet and keep to themselves and are never violent, and constantly pestering them about being introverted is just making things worse.

Well, the idea is that society must take care of each other. If i can hold you responsible for the actions of your brother or sister, you will make sure that he or she does not make mistakes. You will make sure that you ask for help when he or she will go wrong. If he or she has fundamental or idiotic cultural idea's about hurting other people, you will make sure you will try to prevent him or her. Even with the help of your neighbors, other family members and so on. What he did was wrong. And what he did, he did not just invented himself. There must have been signals. This is not the first case of acid attacks in Islamic countries. That is why i selected the sentence as i did. You have to understand that there are people within his close proximity who agree with him. If they agree, they must share his fate. But his fate must not be to be punished for ever in "hell". His fate must be able to accept that his views where wrong and that he must undo what he has done. Or karma will happen and the cycle of violence will continue. I chose my sentence because there is a strong social control, and that is good when used properly.

A ruling in a court is on a case to case basis when properly done.
This sentence may not work for another person with another crime and thus must not happen for that case. I agree i do not know all details. But if i understand the way of life a bit there, the family knew the girl as well. And if they know the girl, they must have known what that guy was up to. If they did not, then their fate is a warning for other families.

At least killing them removes them from this world even if people's real motive is vengeance, and it doesn't torture a person who even if they're heinous are still human. People that do sufficiently bad crimes shouldn't remain in a position to affect society any more. Only reason I don't really care for the death sentence is the potential for killing innocent people.

I get confused about all those people here who whine so much here.
But i am starting to read between the lines.
I do not know who you mean. But i would not be surprised if some of the posters here desire young girls while being late 20s or early 30s themselves. It would fit that they condemn others for desiring young girls while doing the same when the curtains are closed. Reminds me of that preacher that turned out to have sex with young boys while being high on speed. All the while condemning homosexuality. On a side note to clarify :
I am an atheist and i only prefer women. I have met in real life a lot of different people from different religions and cultures. Most are very nice and good hearted and just want to life in peace. That is what counts.
