64oz of water wouldnt lead to water intoxication in the average person. She must have been pretty small.

Most people suffer water intoxication when drinking over a gallon of water in a short amount of time, or gallons of water over the course of many hours.

I have no doubt that very few people know that too much water is fatal.

Its not something that people worry about because its water. The only thing people think is fatal about water is drowning.

She worked in the medical field. I heard some soundbites and they said several times that drinking excessive amounts of water can be dangerous.

Truly a sad story. She didn't even end up winning the Wii, she lost to another woman and accepted Justin Timberlake tickets for that night, she died before she was able to see the concert.

This is audio from the contest, it's truly morbid to hear them joking about the dangers and hearing her talk about how she feels light-headed. For those who are making her out to be foolish for her actions, please have a little heart for her children. She was a friend of a friend, and this has been a great hardship for everyone close to her.
