Freedom of expression has gone down hill fast with Obama, can't make a movie about Islam, can't dress a rodeo clown as Obama, can't wear any costume you feel like on Halloween.

Its just cyber bullies flexing their muscles.

Yea, its Obama's fault. This wouldn't have happened before 2008.

Her employer would have still fired her. They can fire her for whatever reason they want as long as it isn't discrimination....which would be hard to prove in an At-Will state anyway.

What do you expect to come from a "community" based around anonymity and a no consequences system? None of the people who leaked her information will suffer anything than the scorn of a few posters on some random forums. And since nobody knows who they were, they escape and real consequences in their real lives.

That's what makes this whole thing so disgusting.

I'm going to defend this woman because I think it's the only correct and civilized response to this situation. The fact that she wore this costume and tweeted it to her friends may have been silly on her part. However, it was wrong of her to lose her job over it. She has freedom of expression in her private sphere. Also the place she worked for didn't seem to have an issue with it at the time. Finally, the people who caught wind of this picture and got all hot and bothered over it waged a massive cyber bullying campaign against her. She got punished by lynch mob rule.

To put it into perspective, I think you'd be hard pressed to find any member on this forum who hasn't posted something stupid or offensive at one time or another. How would you feel is someone took an "offensive" post you made in P&N and used it to wage a campaign to take away your job? Probably pretty bad, victimized even?

At some point, we decided as a society that mob rule it the correct rule. Which history has shown is rarely the case. Just proves you just need a couple hundred people to be sufficiently "outraged" to take away someone's living and destroy their lives. Each one of these people who attacked this woman should be charged with stalking.

yeah overreaction. Wonder what people will think if she dressed up as the bomber. If they don't like what she wore then we should do away with halloween. Its up to individual to judge her if she has class or not but we shouldn't lynch her. It's not like she is wearing it to work everyday. I think her costume is dumb but she shouldn't be fired over it.

Oh for God's sake, really. Young adults these days are so fucking stupid. Look at all the stupid shit she has posted online, and now she has taken down all her social media accounts (according to some article), damage control well after it's too late.

I blame it on parents hopelessly ignorant about the internet letting their kids act like total maniacs online.

This woman was an adult. Sadly many 12-15 year olds are posting much worse on their phones/social media accounts.

She wasn't really upset about her nudes leaking out as she was her parents being threatened.

I'll take the counterpoint. . . just because I can and I like to argue.

She should have lost her job because her actions reflected poorly on her judgment, and thus the judgment of the company that hired her. 99% of business is reputation. The other 1% is common sense.

You are correct in that she has freedom of expression in her own private sphere. But the fact that she is "free" to express herself does not mean that she is free of judgment, or of the ridicule and backlash that comes with it. What she did was not "silly." It was stupid, WAYYYYY too soon and, though she likely did not think of it at the time, amounted to poking fun at the hundreds/thousands of people who were injured/affected by the Boston bombing. Tragedy of any sort is not something to be made fun of. She might as well have starved herself for six months, thrown on rags, branded herself with a fake numbered tatoo, and gone out trick or treating as a Jewish prisoner during the holocaust.

What about OJ? Nicole and the other guy masks the same year they were murdered? tasteless too but no internet that time

Poor judgement? Uh maybe. Personally I don't see what the big deal is. She's not in Boston. People need to grow thicker skin and stop being internet badasses. Three whole people died in Boston. I bet lots of people dressed up as Christopher Dorner and that guy killed 4 people. Where's the outrage!? Where are the death threats?! It's Halloween people!

Nudes a problem? Once again poor judgement. I don't see why she got fired though. What kind of job did she have that nudes would reflect poorly on the company and justify being fired? I can see it if she was in politics or education but this girl was probably working as a waitress. She will probably generate more business. I think we're going to end up with an entire generation of girls with nudes all over the internet pretty soon. We gonna fire them all? Shit unemployment in her age bracket is already over 50%. Might as well go all the way.

People need to really get over themselves and calm the fuck down.

Sure. Trolling?

she has nice pics. Too bad she ruined her body. she is not a bad looking girl. Just wants a lot of attention. Looks like she is gravitating towards porn the way she pose and showing her skin.

This is pretty normal today. Even celebrities and our government officials have been busted with similar selfies.

She wasn't posting these images publically.

Her pictures were private on her facebook.

Most do their banking online, are you saying they want to share their finances and account numbers publically as well.

Try harder not to be a bullying dumbass.

Good god...epic boobs. Why do all the ones that look like that have to be crazy

Who says she's crazy? She picked a freakin' Halloween costume that some internet crazies deemed in poor taste.

Um what? There are banks where their passwords aren't even case sensitive. I would wager most of them store their usernames and passwords in plain text in their database. With the amount of tech companies hacked by a simple SQL injection, all bets are off for how hard a company is to hack. I would bet Facebook uses better security practices than 90% of the companies in the world today.

Facebook accounts are "hacked" via phishing, not some exploit. Bank information is just as easy to "hack".
