Mosh,

I think you're taking the things I am saying a little too seriously. I'm having fun with this thread...
*taps sarcasm meter*

I've had three girlfriends that have almost killed me while turning left...on red...through 2 lanes of oncoming traffic.

That's what happens when the driver's head is on your head and not on the road.

I can understand using an ice scraper in a pinch, but a snow shovel? Tell me she'd just woken up or something

I don't get what the big deal is? Am I suppose to use that shitty brush to clear off two feet of snow? If you're careful you won't scratch it.

Ok so use the shovel for the first foot and 3/4 and wipe the rest off with your arm or a regular scraper, or just get a real brush if it really snows that much. When you all say snow shovel, I'm thinking of a manure shovel, which isn't exactly the most nible or precise tool, hardly something I want gouging at my paint.

it's a scientific fact that men and women are different, and that's a really good thing, but i don't think there aren't women out there who are good drivers.

i'll be the first to step forward and say i'm a great driver, and contrary to the popular beliefs in this thread, not all car accidents are the fault of women drivers.

I don't think you put enough words in my mouth, mosh.

Oh BTW, my wife is a great driver, and even auto-x's and drags down at the track a couple times a year in her modded Subaru.

A female Asian friend of mine hit a house over the summer. I thought that only happened in Everybody Loves Raymond or if you were Billy Joel, but no. She drove right into the living room of the house across the street from her.

I saw a woman use her turn signals the other day. She turned on the left blinker, waited about 3 seconds, moved over to the right lane, waited 3 more seconds and then turned the blinker off.

Nope see, cause if you were a good driver, you would've avoided it .

I used to live in Boondocks, PA (not a literal place... that I know of) and I never hit a single deer because I used my 1337 techniques to get around them .

edited for spelling mistake

Missed one . (and a couple other instances of brakes) I used to proofread Initial D manga, so I'm used to reading stuff like that Although I did cause the great paddle incident where I accidentally put in paddle instead of pedal... I was so embarrassed . Watch out for that brake paddle heh.

But talking about woman drivers, my mom is actually pretty decent overall at driving. I think she's only ever had one accident that was her fault. Hell, my brothers messed up more cars than that. He fell asleep once and turned a car into a V. He crashed his Suzuki into a drain pipe when coming down a snow covered hill (that wasn't really that bad at going down, IMO he took the corner at an angle that was just a bit too sharp). Heck, my dad hit so many deer, he was a regular for radiators!

What kind of Subaru and do you have any videos of the autocross?

I will say that I would rather be in the car with my mom driving rather than my dad. Also, my last 2 ex's were pretty good drivers and I felt safe letting them drive. I even let one drive my 330 around as well so that I would not put as many miles on it.

2001 Impreza RS and sorry no vids on hand. She's good at it, not great. I had to talk her out of rally-x.

Just today me and a friend stopped to admire a womans handy work in regards to driving into a steep ditch.

The intersection (rural area) is shaped like a Y, she came from the top left part of the Y and failed to turn into the | part and proceeded straight into the ditch, there where no other factors involved. The car was left at a angel like this \ . My friend informed me that she appeared to be very young and most likely was using a cell phone at the time, she also wasn't wearing a seat belt and suffered several cracked ribs from impacting the steering wheal.

My personal count of almost being hit BY female drivers is up to 5, men 1.

Ohh that'd be fun; you should let her try it out and get a video of it or something.

I've pondered trying autocross when I had my Talon, but the idea of having to plot a course out that's only guided by orange cones seemed like it'd mess with my mind... like they'd all start to mesh together or something .

I have the cheaper version of the town car (Grand Marquis) and I've tried to get her to drive it, but she doesn't want to touch it.

i love my titanic too (grand marquis)

Of all my women friends, I was comfortable with only ones driving. Ironically, she was the only one who totaled a car...

In womens' defense, mens' insurance isn't higher because we're uglier - the same testosterone responsible for spatial awareness is also responsible for the aggression which tempts us to drive faster and take risks. We get in fewer but more serious accidents, causing more overall monetary damage than women. I still can't help but shake my head in disgust at someone being unable to avoid stationary objects though.

Yep, all true. But damn that one woman who backed right into me while I was freakin stopped in a parking lot a few years ago... :|

i was in a parking lot and i had to stop while this girl was parking her car.

pretty standard stuff, pretty full parking lot but she'd found a nice space with a BMW 330i cabrio on the left, Ford Focus on the right. some how she managed to scrape the rear quater panel of her car (a vauxhall corsa....ie a super mini) down the side of this BMW, and upon reversing out to try again scraped it even more.

poor mans car had bright orange paint all down the rear quarter panel of his new, dark metalic blue BMW.

seriously....it not even remotely hard to park in a standard car parking space, especially when going in forwards. I am completely baffled as to how she managed it.

once i nearly got ran over in the same area. there is a junction (into the cinema parking lot) that joins what is at that point a 2 lane wide (in both directions) intersection. (im in the UK) so if you wanna go left you simply turn onto the road in the lanes directly infront. or if you wanna go right you must travel across the first two lans and around some bollards marking the intersection

this is all controlled by traffic lights, and theres an island in the middle of the road just before the intersection for people crossing. now when you are allowed out of this junction, the crossing lights for the 2 nearest lanes go green so that people can walk, whilst the 2 lights on the other two lanes stay red so you cant walk.

so im just crossing the road when some woman comes burning out of the junction and basically turns right straight away, ie on to the two nearest lanes, ie going the wrong direction down the road. i shat myself so hard becaue when you cross there traffics only ever coming from the right anyway. but to have someone suddenly come from the left was just mental.

again i dont know how you get that sooo wrong, its not a terribly difficult intersection to see or navigate and its pretty clear with arrows and no entry signs as to where your supposed to be driving.

man ATOT is the best place to moan about women drivers because the male:female ratio is almost infity:1 so your very likely to have everyone agree whole heartedly with you

Littarally every minute or so she can be half way in the other lane. NEVER a streight line! serpentine for hundreds of miles. To make it worse she drives like 85 and TAILGATES like no other. Every single car. I mean like 85 and only feet from the bumper until they move over.

Almost every single time I go with her somewhere she'll not realize there was a stop sign or not realize when a lane merges etc. Constantly almost causes an accident. And then will be like "whats this idiot honking at me for??". It's only because the other people were paying attention that the accident is avoided. And she always says she's a good driver she has no accidents. Yeah because the other people are watching out! It's amazing she's never been in a accident. Seems like thats how it is with a lot of women, horrible drivers but it's because of the other drivers on the road that they never pay for the bad driving. Most the time never knowing they did anything wrong.

i try not to go with my mum on long journeys for another reason. she will not go over 60mph, and in a rav4 since you are higher up you need to really look hard to ascertain if you are making any forward progress.

that and she is batshit scared of big lorries.....yet she will undertake them (which is a stupid idea because trucks have pretty nasty blind spots on that side of the vehicle). i was like your scared of these things running into you yet your putting yourself in a situation where exactly that has more chance of happening? )oh btw, our trucks are limited to 56mph)

also if shes along side a lorry (on the proper side this time) and it indicates to move out and overtake another lorry, she gets all panicy there as well and almost instantly sets about trying to get out of the way by swtiching lanes or braking! braking on the motorway in steady traffic!

seriously its not like they dont know you are there, especially when on the drivers side, he's got a pretty good chance of knowing where you are. you just stay there till you overtake or if your gonna move dont hurry yourself about it.

you dont need man the battlestations just because he put his blinker on

Also there are NO good WOMEN rally drivers (WRC), none.... infact there are rarely any good drivers at all unless they are from Finland where males are born with the ability to tap dance on 3 pedals, and perform a scandanavian flick before they are even able to converse.

Frankly, I think that most PEOPLE are bad drivers. However, more men than women show enough interest to become good drivers. Furthermore, more men than women show enough enthusiasm (coupled with lack of experience) to cause catastrophic accidents. Hence the reason for the insurance rates.
I have to agree. There are certain things men will try harder at and improve. Driving is one of them.
But the same goes for women.

I think women are dangerous drivers because they refuse to do only one thing at a time. My wife usually tries to drive and relate some pointless multi-tangental story about crap nobody cares about. Meanwhile, she's so deep in thought trying to remember some useless detail that she's drifting off the road and grinding the wheels against the curb. Last week she tore a 2 inch hole in her front driver side tire's sidewall and has no idea how it happened. Or how the passenger side got crinkled. I just hope she didn't hit somebody and is too embarrassed or whatever to tell me.
