I work from home, so there are definitely days where I've bypassed a shower just because I didn't really get dirty, can't wash my hair every days because it will dry out, and it takes a long time to dry.

Supposedly, women don't sweat as much. Many women have told me they don't shower daily also.

Yup, some people sweat more, smell worse easier, etc.

And if you see Jonny football hero in the hall, tell him he played a great game, tell him you like his article in the newspaper

Showering too much is bad for your skin. Washing your hair too much is bad for your hair.

~1000 years ago, you rarely bathed.
~500 years ago, you bathed once a year.
~50 years ago, you bathed once a week.
~25 years ago, you bathed several times a week.
~20 years ago, you bathed daily.
Now: "You didn't bathe in the last 5 minutes! Ewww! Gross. Not showering every 3 minutes is bad for you."

You have to cut it off at some point. I think every other day or every third day is about right for most people. Of course, if you sweat or get dirty, then wash regardless of the amount of time from your last shower.

If you bathe/wash your hair daily, you train your skin and scalp to constantly be oily since you have to keep replenishing what you washed away. But if you do it less often, you'll be far less oily as your skin and scalp learn that they don't need to produce much oil. From that point of view, you may be "dirtier" by doing it daily than by doing it every other day.

Many women dont wash their hair daily. So long as it doesnt stink I dont bother them.
But a dirty smelling woman is asking for whispers behind her back.

As for my hairy male ass: Dial, body scrub and bar soap. I can go the whole day before I start to stink. Never thought an anti-biotic soap would help so much, but it does.

Off the topic:
I have been told an increase in either magnesium or manganese can help with natural B.O.

People also tended to get the bubonic plague back then.

I shower twice a day, but I wash my hair(with shampoo) once a month. I also use soap once a week. I haven't taken a bath in 10 years.

What does "washing your hair" mean? Shampoo, or just getting it wet? I find it hard to take a shower without getting my hair wet, and I shower daily.

You wash your hair once in every 60 showers? What in fuck's name are you taking so many showers for?

Shower daily but wash hair twice a week. The main reason for this is because my scalp and hair got effed really bad when I use to shampoo daily with Head & Shoulders in the morning. Not only did it dry out my scalp, it dried out my face and probably screwed up my hair because it no longer prevented dandruff. I found that by using lighter/less harsh shampoos or even conditioner only would mitigate this significantly.

Oh, ya and I'm losing my hair so I believe that if I wash less, less will fall out, thus extending the time I'll have hair... Yes, I know it's a myth.

I take a shower when I need to. I need to shower every day. pretty simple.

I only wash my hair once a week or so, but since I have dreadlocs, my hair responds a bit differently than other hair types/styles.

How can you possibly confuse getting your hair wet with washing it? I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you only asked because you find the idea of confusing the two equally unimaginable.

I shower once at night and once in the morning. At night, I shower for obvious reasons. In the morning, I shower cause it helps with shaving. The shaving creams and soaps are ineffective on me. Whenever I use them, I always get some sort of rash or irritation. I discovered shower shaving a few years ago and it has been a godsend. No rashes. Not itches. No ingrown hairs.

I eat out for lunch and dinner 3/4 of the time. The rest is frozen microwavables or instant noodles.

My roommate - an otherwise normal - well adjusted female in her mid-twenties - with a boyfriend and everything (no pics - fuck you) - showers weekly. Thats on thursday when her boyfriend makes her take one with him - so they can have the sexxorz.

Her brother is the same way - except without a girlfriend to force regular showering - he does it when his family goes out to eat about once a quarter. Seriously - once a quarter.

Before the aforementioned girl got her current boyfriend and was single - she also showered quarterly. They are my wifes best friends, but boy can they stink up a room. They aren't particularly unattractive people either, just never learned to shower everyday and think we all don't notice.

I think WoW might have something to do with it - but they were this way before they bothe got enraptured by the call of Blizzard.

I have no idea why they don't automatically shower every day - I know that I sure as hell have gone a weekend without it, but always bright and early on Monday morn I'm in there scrubbing my ass. It's an everyday thing for me. I don't talk to them about it, I don't mention it - I just sort of look past it as it isn't my business. Now my wife and I enjoy a snicker or 3 at their expense...

I don't know. I just remember being told as a kid to not "wash your hair every day," which was a simple warning for "don't shampoo every time you shower so your scalp doesn't dry out." It didn't mean not to let your hair get soaked/wet.

But some other people here think differently.

Instead of snickering behind their backs why not do the adult thing and tell them that they
stink and are stinking up your house. The reason I suggest this is because I had a friend who for a time was homeless and living out of his car. After several times of him coming by to visit me and stinking my living room up I was forced to tell him to get in the bathroom and take a shower. I told him "either shower or leave". He showered. My brother had to do the same thing with this guy. Tell them.

ps.I had to throw out two overstuffed furniture pieces because of his lingering odors on them. So did my brother have to jettison a couch.

If women who don't shower every day gross you out, definitely, definitely, definitely never date a European. They think the American obsession with body odor is unnatural.

FWIW, the obsession with cleanliness and paranoia concerning "germs" is unhealthy; you need regular exposure to microbes and virii to keep your immune system primed and ready to fight infection. Don't hand your kids an antibacterial wipe every time they soil their hands. Let them eat a little dirt from time to time. They'll be healthier adults for it.
